Whats your favourite albums from the first Punk era 76-80 ?

I love the first Clash album...so much damn energy...and it sounds today more like an English garage band than so called punk.

Has anyone mentioned The Lurkers - "Fulham Fallout"? If not, I can't believe no-one has!
Also - Slaughter and the Dogs - "Do It Dog Style" or "Live at the factory"

Great to see so many are into the Rezillos too.

My first "punk" single was the Pork Dukes - "Makin Bacon", very un-pc!
First album was The Ramones "Rocket to Russia"
Then The Stranglers "No More Heroes"

I think you pretty much nailed it here...

I'd throw in some UK Subs as well.

There were SO MANY great records released back then, it's hard to remember them all...here's a few off the top of my head that i still dig to this day:
The Saints...Stranded...ya, Lost Soul mentioned it as well. it's killer from top to bottom. The Vibrators....Pure Mania....so many songs and all good. Wire....Pink Flag.....like above
Siouxsie and The Banshees....The Scream....killer guitar sound.
Teenage Head....First Album....rockabilly on speed.
The Cramps....Songs The Lord Taught Us....liked Psychedelic Jungle even more, but it's from 1981
X Ray Spex....Germ Free Adolescence....buzzsaw guitar
all of The Ramones LP's within the time period.
The Dead Boys....Young Loud and Snotty.
The Pebbles compilation series....those records opened up a ton of doors for me....

In the summer of 76, I purchased "RAMONES" (unheard...just taking a chance). Loved it so much that when I went to college that fall, I roadtripped up to NY and CBGB's to see them. Changed my life. For that reason it's my favorite of the whole era.

Thanks Fuzzmeister for mentioning the Lurkers. I'd surfed through 10 pages of comments in utter disbelief that nobody (Gringo... shame on you especially - the rest of your list ROCKS) included band that brought the world "Shadow", "Jenny", "Self-destruct" and the massive, "Be My Prisoner". Not to mention the Lurkers were the first release on Beggar's Banquet Records.

I'll put "Shadow" up against I'm "Stranded" any day of the week.

The Boys first kicks ass and the Undertones. I have a lot of memories involving Blank Generation and cocaine. Um...Ramones, Leave Home, Pink Flag, Clash, Modern Lovers. Tough to say, so many kickass albums from that era.
