I say, in no particular order, 1st Clash album ((US version)), "Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's The Sex Pistols," 1st Generation X album ((US version as well)) and then if i have to keep it at five ((which, come to think of it, nobody told me i had to do)) i would include "Leave Home" and "Rocket to Russia." Then i would sneak the 1st Ramones LP in there when nobody was looking.

These are for me, some of thee most important punk recordings from the 70's/ealy 80's period. But by no means a complete list.
Although The Screamers were one of thee most influential bands from the Los Angeles punk scene, they never made a record as far as I know. One of the most undocumented but most revered bands of their time! They are known to have been a big influence on The Dead Kennedy's. Also notable on the L.A. Masque scene are bands such as The Weirdos (records came out in the 80's), The Germs, The Skulls, The Bags, The Eyes, The Dils, The Zeros, The Mau Maus, and Catholic Discipline. Many of these bands did not record or released posthumous records in the 80's or 90's. Don't let anyone ever tell you that Los Angeles didn't have a meaningful Punk scene! My first concert EVER was Middle Class + Phillip Blues + The Gun Club at a roller rink in the San Fernando Valley around 1981 or so. I was 16 years old. I cannot discount the effect Rodney Bingenheimer's radio show had on me in the 80's. This guy would play Black Flag and follow it up with The Seeds! It all fell into place in my mind after hearing a show like his. Punk had a long history that was being written even as I lived and breathed. 'Nuff said.....
I missed off The Television Personalities debut album 'And Don't The Kids Just Love It' which if I'm right came out in 1980. It's good to see that Dan Treacy is still making music today.
For those of you that enjoy great '60s music, but crave to hear some music that Oldies stations do not play, you've come to the right place. No overplayed oldies, just songs from groups that seem to fall of the radar of most classic rock stations....
Show #256: "The Eggman Collection #74"
Every 3 weeks I do a series of shows called The Eggman Collection, which originally was an old tape/cd collection of songs that I like. Now since I have little time due to work and stuff, I made it into a ra...
