Curious to hear what some other people might suggest to be the best garage or punk bands of recent times? Mostly I stay listening to older bands but it's good to know about the current ones to keep up with the good live acts when they come around if you like going out to concerts.

I recently heard a band called The Kansas City Faggots. When I first learned of their existence, I was sort of pissed, because I grew up in Kansas City (this band is Texas based) and a friend and I had at one point discussed starting a band called The Kansas City Faggots, and we'd planned a gimmick in which we'd don Royals jerseys except, predictably, instead of Royals, the jerseys would say Faggots.

The band themselves are good, raunchy, rock and rollsy, so I can't complain too much.

Did anyone mention Loud Squirt and Traumahelikopter yet? Both from the Netherlands. Groningen (Grunnen) to be exact.

Loud Squirt are a very intense, high energy garage punk band with one single out so far. Website: http://loudsquirt.blogspot.com/

Traumahelikopter are a very cool garage rock band with two singles out so far: Website: http://traumahelikopter.tumblr.com/

Both bands have an excellent live rep. It's time the rest of the garage punk world gets to know these bands. Do yourself a favor and listen to these 2 bands.

I have to agree with Planet Trash, both bands are great! And go check out OBN III's, they have two excellent 7"s out on Tic Tac Totally. And while you're at it, Black Gladiator put out some amazing punkshizzle; Vex Ruffin & the Lo-Fi Jerkheads, Electric Crush, Tunnel Of Love. just my 2 cents
might be a dumb question but, which of the podcasts' play modern rock n' roll?
TURBO FRUITS
check out the horrors sheenas a parasite and go from there (make sure to hear death at the chaple ,count in fives ,gloves ,she is the new thing and there versions of jack the ripper and crawdaddy simone

I always find it humorous when people post their own stuff in the 3rd person. Just admit it's you! You wouldn't be the first to do that, ya know.

BTW, it's not bad... kinda reminds me of Dead Moon and/or Pierced Arrows (another couple bands Duke or anyone else should check out... they have a direct link to '60s garage, too, vie Fred Cole [who was in the Lords/The Weeds/Lollipop Shoppe] — How many other current bands can say that?)
