In the spirit of bring this board back to some real, proper garagepunk topics, let's talk screams.  You know, "Yeah!", "Woo!", "Hey!", "Ow!"... who's got the best mid-song, mic-distorting, wildest, craziest, rawest scream in rock 'n' roll?  Little Richard may have been one of the originals, but I think that no one can HOWL like Jerry Roslie from the Sonics.  Who do you say?

Maybe not "the best", but I'm been partial to those naughty boy, sexed-up, pure havin' fun screams by Marc Bolan....the first one at the beginning of "20th Century Boy" is unadultered "i'm a rock star and i'm going to get some pussy" howler......
Ha! Good one, Elisa.
If only I could be a fly on the wall of your rock n' roll brain!

It would have to go to Bunker Hill in my book!!!!
Joan Jett's scream at the beginning of the Runaways "Blackmail" is pretty darned good. Another lady with great pipes for screaming is Kyra LaRubia from Thee Headcoatees, A Lines, etc. Armitage Shanks backed her on a couple of singles one being Siouxsie and the banshees "Love In A Void." Like a dental drill through your brain.
I enjoy the gospel screams of Bunker Hill the most. I also like Wayne Cochran.

One of my favorite garage rock songs is "Scream" by Ralph Nielson and the Chancellors. I'm not sure who's screaming on the song but man, what a blood curdling scream.

M Jackson in 'Who's Bad' . Nah, another vote for Sonics. How do you do that shit without poping a vein?
Intro to T.V. Eye popped into my head first as well, that's wild. Then I scrolled down before I hit "add reply" and saw that this was a common answer. I Got A Right(intro) too.
Dead Boys-Caught with the Meat in your Mouth.
Tonto & The Renegades: Little boy blue, just before the guitar solo!!!!
Barry Stacks from The Grifs - keep dreaming "keep DREEAAAMMIINNNN!!!!!! just near the end of the song, Quality!
The (Dutch) Phantoms' version of "Roadrunner" from '66 is pretty demented, vocal-wise. 1st Elevators LP period Roky (drastically tamed down on subsequent records) gives me that kind of 'lose-touch-with-your-surroundings' wig-out vibe. Gerry Roslie, particularly on 'Psycho'. Dave E from The Electric Eels gets pretty out-there at times, esp. 'Agitated'. Nice scream in the Beaux Jens' 'She Was Mine', prefaced by the dude singing 'ah think ah'm gonna scream'...then he does, and it's a corker!!
joan jett, shes got great pipes.
Back From The Grave Vol. 2: NOVAS - The Crusher
