Favorite All Female Bands and/or Female Fronted Bands and/or Female Artists

Over the past ten or so years, I've gotten into a number of both all female bands and female fronted bands, along with a few female artists, and I would just like to know which ones are your favorites.  This can include the whole history of rock'n'roll, from Wanda Jackson to the Shangri Las to Janis Joplin to the Runaways, etc.

Here are my favorites, in order of preference...

Manda and the Marbles

The Pipettes

The Cocktail Slippers

The Charms

The Holograms

The Paybacks

The Runaways

Les Hell on Heels

The Gore Gore Girls

Vibeke Saugestad

Suzi Quattro

The Donnas

Rose Elinore Dougall (Former Pipette)

Please don't judge me, but I really like the Yeah Yeah Yeah's... They have this really cool vibe and of course, the amazing vocals of Karen O. They've got plenty of good records that prove their greatness.

And of course, can't forget about Janis Joplin. Good vocals, lyrical content and of course, good music in overall.
Surprised little mention of Babes in Toyland. Great girl grunge!
My favorite Female Fronted Band is Shannon and the Clams, hands down!

Red Aunts

Bobbyteens

Spastics

No Talents

Teenage Jesus and the Jerks

too many to name...

-erika

Hey, I like YYY's too. Karen O is a spectacular lead. Their first album definately has a "garage" influence even if their sound gets more polished later.

I'm pleasantly surprised this thread is still going strong.
Not a favorite bu t Las Kellies from Argentina are becoming favorites fast

In recent years , The Sirens , who are fronted by Muffy Kroha , Danny's Sister. She can really scream right up there with Roky , Little Richard and Noddy , too. But , she also has quite a dynamic range. She laughed when I told her I thought it was two people singinging on their first album. I like Wendy Case , too , but much more with Ten High than with The Paybacks. I mow against the grain , sorry. Jezebel from The Friggs , Heidi Liebe from Sit'n'Spin , Chris Horne from The Brood (Tho' it's too bad she had that clip taken down.) , Mary Huff from Southern Culture on The Skids (Younger people , please ! Save SCOTS FROM BECOMING A SOCCER MOM BAND, AND ATTEND THEIR GIGS.) , Lil' Lisa - Louise from The Dyes.

She's The Queen. The rest are all Ladies in Waiting. Not a bad thing to be.
