Favorite All Female Bands and/or Female Fronted Bands and/or Female Artists

Over the past ten or so years, I've gotten into a number of both all female bands and female fronted bands, along with a few female artists, and I would just like to know which ones are your favorites.  This can include the whole history of rock'n'roll, from Wanda Jackson to the Shangri Las to Janis Joplin to the Runaways, etc.

Here are my favorites, in order of preference...

Manda and the Marbles

The Pipettes

The Cocktail Slippers

The Charms

The Holograms

The Paybacks

The Runaways

Les Hell on Heels

The Gore Gore Girls

Vibeke Saugestad

Suzi Quattro

The Donnas

Rose Elinore Dougall (Former Pipette)

All woman bands are killer!

I'm just scorching thru some quick, gotta look up some you named there, thanks!

The Pipettes are great, Gore Gore girls anyhow, I love the Donnas, they are like a snotty boy garageband shoving it up all those mean boy bands right away, I like their cocky lyrics and the whole pose, just great and fun. Their first two albums are spectacular to me, everything else by them as well of course. As well as their pre Donnas thing the Electrocutes, but I never got what record(s) they released as that outfit though.

Crazy, that Suzy Quattro was in the Pleasure Seekers and made some damn great music before getting into her next thing. Well, blabla let's continue:

TWO TEARS along with MOTORAMA are my faves + LOVESTRUCK of course! So many more!

The Del-Gators are pretty great, HELL, I wish they hadn't moved on to other stuff!

The Del-Monas and the Headcoatees for sure - AND everything the single members did.

Pretty much all of the early 50's ROCK'ROLL dames, they kicked ass I can tell ya.

Demolition Doll Rods, I guess Danny (Kroha) would be up with titling them an all girls band I guess, haha, he's the coolest.

...I could go on all night long, but I'm out of time! Holla!

Love L7, Joan Jett is a badass, and the Donnas rule.

of course the DETROIT COBRAS, PATTY SMITH, BIG MAMA THORNTON, BIKINI KILL & L7(i was kinda surprised that you all like them too!)

and the MICRAGIRLS are nice!

Japan has at ton of great girl bands, the classics being the 5678's, most obviously, Supersnazz,  Mummy the Peepshow, Lolita No.9, Portugal Japan, The Pappys and more recently, Thee 50's High Teens, Six, That's a No No, The Click, The Let's Gos, The Feminine, Spooky, Belly Button, The Harpy's, The Darlings, Kannana Speedcats, The Mercies, Madame Cats... I think about 3 girl bands form and one or two fade away on a monthly basis in Japan.

Very happy Theee Bat already came up, before the 5678's even!

As for non-Japanese stuff, I've been digging The Brood lately:

The Pandoras

Nikki & the Corvettes

The Avengers

The Pleasure Seekers

The Muffs

The Lost Sounds

River City Tanlines

X

Supersnazz

Patti Smith

Blondie

The Smears

The 5.6.7.8's

The BellRays

The Brentwoods

nico should count for the underground.

brody dalle in the distillers.

I recently bought "Vacation," and I still think it's a cool album.
