Old or new, I can't get enough of that sound but can't find much of it either. I'm talkin' crappy mic through a tiny guitar amp, terribly recorded, badass sound. New or old from the sonics to ty segall just throw me some good shit please!

The Pebble's records never fail, Cherrystones is also good.

hands down, HOZAK Records is putting out tons and tons of the best new garage every month....the groovy tashy lo-fi slimy kind...not the comb your hair forward, poser kind..

I hear it all.  You cant go wrong w/ Hozak.

...and I'm sure everyone here has a working knowledge of Estrus Records by now.

How about some groovy trashy lo-fi slimy Canadians:

i hate it, but i'm going to go ahead and use this as an oppurtunity for shameless self=promotion! i play in a sludgy, reverb-drenched, garage band...here's the link to our bandcamp, i think there's everything we've released on tapes here.."under the stairs" was recorded on 4track - i hope it scratches your itch! http://magicshadows.bandcamp.com/track/under-the-stairs-4-track-demo

I love lo-fi!

I also love the irony of it being played on a hi-fi too.....

Lo-fi ish bands I like include:

Surfy/lo-fi/garage.....

Lo-fi garage pop

The Babies are a lil bit lo-fi? in an indie rock way maybe....

The Hunches are a good noisy/trashy lo-fi garage punk band you could check out.

What about this one.

Is this what you're looking for?

Surely you're refering to the Mutants of the Holocaust! Definately lo-fi (try no-fi), definately trashy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8sFbeVa4A8&context=C41b6b64ADvj...

thanks for the big-up on this. anthony from tunnel of love and paul from the apes have a new band called the psyched, and their debut lp will be out on black gladiator on may 29th!

Tunnel of Love on Black Gladiator Records is pretty damn good and pretty damn gnarly. Recorded on a way-too-far-in-the-red cassette 4-track.

Check out The Organs and The Othermen on the Brooklyn, NY based label Killer Diller Records:

"I absolutely LOVE stoner rock (heavy) - - just not all the time.  Makes me think of The Black Angels and Vega out of Chicago.  Denver has a pretty decent stoner-rock scene with Black Lamb.  As for metal all the way through to grunge -…"
