Thought I'd start this thread as I hardly know anyone on here and it would be a good way to get to know some of the 1000+ members on the Garage Punk Hideout.

Anyway, I'll start.

I'm Bazza 37 years old from the North East of England and play the bass in the garage/psych band Thee Strawberry Mynde. I've been playing the bass now since I was 15 way back in 1985. I've played in a number of bands over the years and this is my second spell in Thee Strawberry Mynde as the band only reformed at the end of last year after originally splitting up in 1998.

As well as playing in bands I also DJ. Not so much in clubs these days but I do a monthly show for the internet station Mod Radio UK - http://www.modradiouk.net

I've been into garage music now since the mid 80s. The first garage band I really liked were The Prisoners and I still love the music that Graham Day is releasing. After The Prisoners I got into bands like The Creeps from Sweden and The Mourning After from Shefield before checking out 60s garage bands and became a big fan of bands such as Love, ? & The Mysterians, The Standells, Count Five, Music Machine, etc.

Another interest of mine is riding scooters. I've had 6 scooters since 1987 5 of them were Vespa's - V100, Sportique, 2 PX125's and a PX200. These days I ride a Bajaj Chetak which looks a lot like a 1960s Vespa but acts more like a Lambretta at it is always beaking down!

I have a MySpace page if anyone wants to add me - http://www.myspace.com/redstar_recordings

You may be confusing me with somjeone else, as I am a newbie to this.  It may have been one of my friends or someone I know that you're thinking of.  As much as I'd like to, I haven't done much music these days (mostly due to not being able to get a band together and attending to other responsibilities).  Just curious, whose music did you play on your podcast?
i have a question!....t5 piston rings...are they both the same size or is the top different to the bottom one?

just mines fucked and skint !

Hello Everyone. I'm jason and I'm 44. Born in Bristol then raised in London with 8 years in Tennessee.

My parents decided to give me an uncommon name which stayed uncommon in this country until Ringo Star called his son Jason. Then every tom dick and harry called their sons Jason. It could have been worse, they were gonna call me Julian!

I got into Punk when I was about 14. I played in loads of punk bands until I was in my late 20's. I was in Blaggers ITA who were a reasonably big band in the early 90's and signed to EMI for a few years. Around 96 or so I started to go see garage gigs in London. It wouldnt be until 2009 before I played in my first 60's style band. I went to see Los Imbeciles a Bristol based Frat Rock band. The singer Elmer told me he wanted to form a new band. That Band became the Hi Class Joes. We play early 60's beat and RnB. I've been drumming for 30 years and I've never had so much fun.

Realized I never filled this one out.  How rude of me!

My name is Jacob, and I'm stationed out here in the good old Pacific Northwest.  Live in north Tacoma.

Some of my favorite bands are The Meteors, Vibes, Bomboras, Krewmen, Primate 5, those are the ones that come to my head first...

I do a radio show on a college station and play a mix of surf, psychobilly, garage, trash, RnB: I just brand it as "psychotronic rock and roll."

Thursdays 7pm Pacific time i'm live at www.kgrg.com

Favorite beers are Stone's Ruination, Spatan's Optimator and Fremont's Brother

Welcome Jason,

Met Elmer last year in Spain, great guy as is his girl and in-laws. Saw the Imbeciles a few years prior to that. Maybe someday I'll catch the Joes too.

Regards -- Mike

Dirt calls me Pop, I ride around in 40's-50's Traditional Hotrod's listening to 60's psychedlic garage rock on an 00's IPod, wearing a 70's Iggy Pop and the Stoogies t-shirt and a Harry Neilson hat, everything I need fit's in my 90's cargo pants pockets, I haven't worn anything but Chuck Taylors since grade school. (except for a brief 80's flirtation with platforms)

Life is a stew, best consumed with a spoon.

38 year old redneck from MS. I've always had a love for dirty rock'n'roll. A couple of years ago I discovered that I live an hour away from Goner Record in Memphis and a new world opened up for me. Right now I'm a huge fan of alot of the stuff coming from OZ such as UV Race, Straight Arrows, ECSR, The Stabbs, etc.

25 year old rock and roll devotee from Kansas. Fooled around with a guitar and even had a couple of bands during highschool and college, but when my friend Katera turned me on to the Cramps I knew my life would never be the same. We started 69 Noses and have been terrorizing and entertaining this bible belt town ever since.

Hit me up if you've got some music I need to hear, or if you want to play a show with us sometime (or book us at one of yours.) Or for any reason really.

I'm also an artist, a chronic gallery attendant, a very amateur 2d old school video game designer...

Hello hideout!

Nope. I'd like to hear them though. I'm always proud of good MS bands, there aren't a lot. My favorites are Overnight Lows and Los buddies from Jackson.
