Like most of us here I suppose, The Cramps were the beginning of it all for me : real cool music, cool movies, cool trash culture and, most of all : a real cool WAY OF LIFE.
Life was suddenly much more fun with The Cramps and all the doors they'd opened...
Aaaaarrgghhh....feels like I've lost someone from own family...my SOUL FATHER or something like that...
All my thoughts go to Ivy ...
Damn, this really sucks.
I saw them twice in the middle '80s in Italy, they were the wildest act I've ever saw in my life. The day after I bought Psychedelic Jungle in my favourite record shop... I went to one of their show a couple of years ago, they still nailed it!
I've been sad the whole day yesterday when I had the news.
You'll be missed, Lux.

Damn...Saw the Cramps in 78 and they blew me away. In 1980 he invited The Cudas to support The Cramps in London and Lux was a most gracious host, really went out of his way to make us feel welcome. The Feelies were on the same bill and their management tried to muscle them in to play after us in the prime support, but Lux put his foot down and ensured the order of the bill was respected. He was a real Rock 'N' Roll fan, shaker and mover and a real gentleman to boot.
They had me at bikini Girls with Machine Guns, but I admit,I always took em for granted(I have too many bands to obsess over) and the loss totally got me down. Hope Ivy and em are all right.
Tune your radios to 88.5 FM CJSR Edmonton or tune in on the web at www.cjsr.com for a tribute to the late frontman for the Cramps, Lux Interior – whose “Purple Knif” radio broadcast was the inspiration (read:COMPLETELY RIPPED OFF) for Flying Saucer Rock & Roll and Dan Electreau. I'll be playing lotsa Cramps and a bunch of stuff from the Born Bad series.
This will also be the LAST transmission of Flying Saucer Rock 'n' Roll radio so don't miss your final opportunity to tune in.

Thanks for this Andy. I first saw this Doc at a screening after The Monks played in Zürich a couple of years ago (Dave was alive and kicking the banjo of course). I agree with you about the work done uncovering the older footage - very cool but I mu…
Daniel Ellcey Trying to configure my office to include a Lazyboy..moving my stereo equipment/turntable in there since wife is less than enthused w/ music.
way back in 1966 "96 Tears" was played to death on WMEX in Boston. It was ingrained on my 10-year-old brain. In high school in the early to mid 70s, I got made fun of by the teen cognosenti because the music I dug "wasn't complicated enough" I was v…
