The GaragePunk Hideout

ARMITAGE SHANKS
Medway's premier league 1977 punk band have been bashing out all manner of punk rockery since 1991. Back in action with a freshened-up band and better than ever, they are belting out the finest old school punk classics alongside new classics of their own making. Resist their albums "Urinal Heep" and "Top Of The Plops" at your peril. Do you dare to miss the authentic sound of the suburbs as Dick Scum and chums leer in your face and veer your brain cells towards the inevitable cider and glue apocalypse? It's punk and it's rock, it's punk rock.

THE NUNS
"It's monk time - it's hop time. Let sapphires glide into the grooves. What is beat? What is beat today? And what is over-beat? And who the hell is going to melt the hot and cold world of tomorrow?" That was five crazy ex-GIs back in 1966 in Germany, who discovered feedback and put out the most amazing album of all time before falling apart and slowly making their way back home to the USA after many years away. Following the Monks' triumphant debut appearance in London at Dirty Water's tenth anniversary in October 2006, a group of young ladies were inspired. Now, it's Nun time!

DE SHAMONIX
Formed in the summer of ’07, De Shamonix have built up quite a reputation from their high energy live shows. This north London group gives you a blast of pure energy, walls of feedback, thudding drums and infectious melodies. Compared to Kings of Leon, The Stooges, and BRMC, The ’Sham have been tipped as a "next big thing". This is a group that comse alive on stage and smacks you right in the face! And they have the songs to back it up!

THE BLUE BAMBINOS
One of the most exciting new bands to have emerged this year, they're a dirty, twangy, experimental, blues, rockabilly, lounge quartet, playing weird party music. Imagine The Birthday Party jamming Sun Record’s back catalogue in an after hours Soho opium den. If they play at your party it might get weird, but if your party is weird enough they'll play. But don't worry, it's not so weird that you can't dance to it. They also embrance vintage rhythm and blues and mix it in with their own invigorating form of left leaning surf music. Once they start, you won't be able to stop moving your feet!

THE ACTIONETTES
The Actionettes are an all-female dance troupe who choreograph their own synchronised routines to songs by sixties girl groups, such as the Shangri-Las, the Ronettes, the Marvelettes, and other 1970s icons such as Nancy Sinatra and Dusty Springfield. They have performed all over the UK and in Europe too, bringing some sparkle and panache to club nights and other events, as well organising their own club. They describe themselves as 'strictly amateur' as none of them have experience - except for years on the dance floor every Saturday night.
