"No one cares about your garage band" on Wikipedia... WTF?

Makes perfect sense to me. Not every band needs a Wikipedia entry, does it?

Also, don't confuse their definition of "garage band" with "garage rock band" or "garage punk band," or, in other words, bands that play this particular style of music (i.e., trashy rock'n'roll vs. metal/numetal, mainstream rock/alternative, hardcore punk, emo, goth, mall punk, jam band crap or any other kind of music a band could play). This article is simply talking about ANY band that's just starting out. If you take it in the context that the article was intended, it makes perfect sense that not every band forming in their parents' garages or basements needs to try and set up its own Wikipedia page.

Find it pretty amusing and accurate in fact ! ;)

Onstage, he plays a Bingleworth J-9000 7-string with a neo-chromium humbuckers.

That's gotta be me favorite Wikipedia article ever!!

"How do I know if anyone cares about my band? A good rule of thumb is: they don't."

Hahahah!!

Ohh, it's painful cause it's true.

Hilarious !

This IS funny. But seriously, it's what happens with an open user interface. And it should happen. And it will keep happening because if everybody exercised self control the world would be a really sterile and boring place.

that's awesome

I HAVE'NT READ THEWHOLE THING , I CAUGHT THIS  AS I WAS GETTING READY TO TURN THE OLD IDIOT BOX OFF....But , it looks pretty funny. Someone went to a LOT of work to get their point across. Anyway , do that many Garage Bands  really think they belong on Wikipedia when they have following of , oh , let's be kind , less than 1000 people? There have got to be a number of Garage Bands , past and present , that are pretty big in our world(s) , but , they're not whining if they have'nt yet rated a mention in Wikipedia.

Oh, that is some goood satire. I love the entries at the very bottom in blue -- did you read those? Funny funny!

My favorite part:

The cops come regularly during your practice sessions and ask you to shut up. While this may make it seem that people care about your garage band, and indeed they do, they are not caring in the right way.

Very funny indeed. That article took some serious effort and thought. I have admiration for the creator of this entry.

One Man Bands

Whats up yall, I am a pirate radio dj on a station in northern California called Humboldt Free Radio Alliance. I do a 2 hour show every week and want to do an entire show of one man garage bands. Any one have any suggestions? I have a few already: bbq, King Lollipop and Dead Elvis. Any suggestions of who to check out would be great. See More
