TRUST FUND BABIES - Up to no Good 7inch (Radio Records)
Another Stitches, Prostitues Style 77 Punk Band, first pressing with black cover limited to 300. This is what a review had to say: After a blistering debut single which received rave reviews, comes the bands even better 2nd 7". The Trust Fund Babies (Which features members of The Shifters & The Spites) combine high-energy punk rock songs with great catchy choruses. This 7" contains 3 songs of their simple but irresistable formula. Hear the band that is hands down the best new band to come out of SF in a long time.

THE MOVEMENT - Hardmod Internationalist EP (Weird System)
You know this one, don´t you, it´s the best Modpunk Revival Band of the last ten years, classic like The Jam.

RECORDS/FULL LENGTH

RUDI - The Band that time forgot LP (Last Years Youth Records)
The best Northern Ireland Punk Band ever, thanks to collector nerd label we finally get to here all the great demos, peel sessions and lots of unreleased stuff from this KBD-Heroes.

THE PUSHERS - Turning Blue LP (Disaster Records)
OC street punk skate at its most primitive. "The Pushers are punk ROCK swagger. They're all the energy and deviant fun of the Heartbreakers, the Germs and the Pagans rolled into a band you can go out and experience today! In the flesh! Not in some musty "pioneers of punk" fanzine article. They even cover a Dead Boys song that's NOT "Sonic Reducer"!

THE PROFESSIONALS - S/T LP (Limited Edition Records)
Great collection of this Sex Pistols follow up project with Steve Jones and Paul Cook featuring all their classics, this is what real Streetpunk should sound like.

MO-DETTES - The Story so far LP (Deram Records)
The Mo-dettes were formed as part of the Punk explosion, with former members having been part of the London squat community, numbering Joe Strummer and Sid Vicious among their housemates. Indeed, the genesis of the band came about while drummer June Miles-Kingston and guitarist Kate Corris were assisting Malcolm McLaren and Julien Temple on the set of The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle. The band also featured Jane Crockford on bass - famous for the 'punk cannibalism' incident when she bit the ear of Shane McGowan at a Clash gig - and Swiss singer Ramona.

MACC LADS - Bitter, Fit, Crack LP (Hectic House Records)
Rare Original Press on Hectic House by everbodys Darling Drunk Punks from the Nineties, how could you live without songs like´Barrels Round´ or ´Maid of Ale´. Cover has small rip at bottom.

THE BODIES - S/T LP (TKO Records)
Staring TKO Round 20, this is in my opinion the best record by these punkers. Fucking great is all I can say. The Bodies rock and roll like any awesome punk band from '77. The Bodies write rapid, catchy, punk songs. There are 12 songs here with cool tracks such as, "Tonight", "Pack your Bags", and "California Republic". The Bodies seem to have a blend of influences from the Kids to Operation Ivy to even the Bouncing Souls. It's bound for the 10 best list!

DECLINE - American Tragedy LP (Hostage Records)
One of the very few full length records by this great Orange County Label best known for their awesome singles by the likes of Broken Bottles, Smogtown, Bonecrusher, Smut Peddlers etc. etc. etc.
The lastest greatest and possibly last great traditional punk band from Long Beach, CA....with classic TSOL, CH3 and China White overtones, the Decline quickly established themselves as the Beach's only band that mattered. A true journey into the unknown.....LP only wax. You gotta admire the testicular fortidude on this one, LP ONLY...ten classic smashes, some more smashing than others (the classic American Tragedy and Useless are cerifiable killers)...again released back in the days of 8 X 12 this record evokes nostalgia and reflects punks gloried and storied past...you can bet your ass this is the last ever LP ONLY release by a solid Long Beach punk band...

DICTATORS - Search & Destroy / Sleepin´ with the TV on 12inch (Asylum Records)
Classic New York Punk in a very special limited edition from 1977.

ANGELIC UPSTARTS - 2.000.000 Voices LP (DOJO Records)
Oi! Classic with Limited Edition Bonus Single

ANGELIC UPSTARTS - Lost & Found LP (Link Records)

V/A - TOWER 13 Compilation LP (Hostage Records)
Every song on here was specifically recorded for and exclusive to this comp and every single song on here is worth listening to, from established Southern California punk rock bands like Smogtown and the Smut Peddlers, to ripping bands to watch out for like the Drips. Hostage really outdid themselves with this release. Proudly, vinyl-only and limited to 1000.

V/A - OLD SKARS & UPSTARTS Compilation LP (Radio Blast Recordings)
Nearly 30 different active punk rock groups signed on for this energetic compilation fairly documenting the state of American punk rock at the dawn of the new millennium. It appears that punk is not dead, as the sounds from U.S. BOMBS, DUANE PETERS & THE HUNNS,PUBLIC TOYS, STITCHES, THE CROWD, DISTILLERS, WORTHLESS, THROW RAG, RICHMOND SLUTS, RIVER CITY REBELS, SMOGTOWN and many other detest.

THE STRIKE - Shots heard round the World LP (Victory Records)
Imagine The Clash made a record with the Newtown Neurotics and you´ll get THE STRIKE.

LOS REACTORS - Dead in the Suburbs LP (Rave Up Records)
Classic KBD Punk Band on the always great Punkrock Treasure Hunter Label Rave Up from Italy.

LIBERTINE - See you in the next life LP (Radio Blast Recordings)
The bastard son of the Clash and Psychedelic Furs going for drinks with the ghost of Hanoi Rocks.

HOLLYWOOD BRATS - S/T LP (Cherry Red Records)
In England 1972 the Hollywood Brats were shopping at thrift stores for huge platform boots, feather boas, women's blouses, applying tons of makeup and nail polish and banging out fast paced rockers. Meanwhile over the water The New York Dolls were doing the same. Of course the Dolls went down in history getting all the plaudits and a good record deal with Mercury before royally fucking up. The Brats however got nothing except a record deal with some Mafiosi care of Keith Moon who then refused to release their record. Unsurprisingly the Brats aren't well known except to the punk cognoscenti.
Best known for their Pre-Punk Classic ´Sick on you`

FLOGGING MOLLY - Drunken Lullabies LP (26 f RPM Records / Burning heart Records)
The one and only true Pogues followers.

SHIFTERS - Shattered LP (Stereodrive Records)
Limited to 750 copies, After 2 7"s that were praised worldwide comes the debut and final full-length from SFs best band of the last few years. Compared to "I’m Stranded"-era Saints and The Stitches you should know that those are not comparisons to be taken lightly. This is a serious contender for RECORD OF THE YEAR!!!. All songs are upbeat, energetic and catchy with their patented sing-a-long vocals.

DISTRICT - Don´t mess with the Hard Punx LP (PLY Records)
Despite hailing from Germany, District could pass for an old school British punk band, right down to the sneering vocals on "Goodbye Chastity", gang choruses that pervade "Pop Stars", and biting melodic guitars all over this disc. In fact, this 13-track, 32 minute release is the most retro punk rock album you'll hear this year barring a Sex Pistols reunion. District really rips off the seminal UK punk rock bands, but they do it so well, you won't even care, just as long as they keep writing tunes with the attitude of "Telephone Song" and "My Baybeez Number".

THE FAKES/THE PUKES Split LP (Zurich Chainsaw Massacre Records/Hostage Records)
Another round of OC-Punkrock greatness, like you only had it on ´Beach Blvd.´, ´Rodney on the ROQ´ and Poshboy.

TRUST FUND BABIES - S/T LP (Rapid Pulde Records)
Already hailed above this one totally rips it too as Punkrock needs to.

TIGHT FINKS - Invited by... LP (TF Records)
Great 77 Style Revival between The Briefs, KBD Classic Jack & the Rippers and The Adicts.

GEISHA GIRLS - S/T LP (JSR Records)
Silk screend inner sleeve, purple Vinyl, limited edition of 500, much sought after first full-length. Southern California buzz band, the Geisha Girls. Taking cues from bands like Gang Of Four and Joy Division, this three-piece manages to stick out from their contemporaries like a post-punked sore thumb. Sparse but tough, almost surf-style, guitar intertwines with some heavy rhythms and Cure-like vocals. A must-have punk/post-punk explosion for fans of Warsaw, Joy Division, Mission of Burma, Gang of Four, PiL, and the like.

THROBBIN URGES - S/T LP (Dead Beat Records)
Pagans and Reagan Youth flambéed over low budget scrappy, scratchy recordings made in living rooms across North America amongst shag carpets and bongs left over from parents 60’s love ins. Suburban houses filled with toxic waste and kids with three eyes and five arms playing mutant punk rock the way it was meant to sound. Raw, Fucked and Desperate. Also if you like Pagans, Dead Boys, Guitar Wolf, Tenngenerate, Carbonas, Feelers etc. pick this up.

MEA CULPA - They put you in a Mask LP (Empty Records)
I really liked Mea Culpa's contribution to the excellent Dirtnap Across the Northwest compilation (which features my own band, the Earaches, so go buy it). Their name is Latin for "my fault" (or more literally, "to take responsibility for"), which is funny because the Earaches have a song called "All My Fault." Anyway, Mea Culpa are really good, politically charged punk rock. Most of their stuff is mid-tempo, melodic and capped off by Billy Fiction's gruff vocals, reminiscent of Joey Keithley (D.O.A.) and Jake Burns (Stiff Little Fingers). They list Billy Bragg, Social Distortion, Dead Kennedys and the Clash as influences and I can hear all of that here. They also remind me somewhat of Toxic Reasons. That killer tune from the Dirtnap comp, "Waiting For America" kicks the proceedings off, with its scathing lyrics about America today. They address topics like the way cops handle protest marches here ("Good Cop, Bad Cop"), corporations ("Corporate Nation"), the punk scene ("Come Join Us") and more protesting commentary ("Whose Streets?") to name a few. I especially like the lyrics to "New Kinda Preppie" with lines like "well your band sure looks pretty, but can they make me feel a thing?/Just shake your hips and cash in on your sense of irony." Sounds like how I felt about a certain band, which shall remain nameless, that the Earaches played with a while ago. This is really great stuff!

ME FIRST & THE GIMMES GIMMES - Take a Break LP (Fat Wreck Chords)
Ideal for Parties, covering through the today´s so called R´n´B pest, which really is neither Rhythm nor Blues, don´t mind as long as you can swagger and drink your beer to the Gimmes.

86 CREW - Bad Bad Reggae LP (Knock Out Records)
Pure Skinhead Reggae !!!

BEATNIK TERMITES - Bubblecore LP (Recess Records)
Think The Queers, Ramones and Screeching Weasel, add more sunshine and some sweet bubblegum and you got the Beatnik Termites.

DESMOND DEKKER - Music like Dirt LP (Trojan Records)
