There's a lot of stuff I could'nt care less about , BUT......

The Dyes (2/3rds PURTY gals) - Cramps , Wanda Jackson , Bad Girl - era Jackie De Shannon , Sonics  , Link Wray and their own thang , brought to a boil. Horror Films , Rat Fink , Aurora Models , Kicks Magazine , Lucha Libre , Chicago's rockin' like it's 1987 , and Wax Trax Records is still open.

Patti Elvis (She's not on my team , but she's in my league) - Drag King Elvis interpreter , with the shades of 70's K-Tel and Tom Jones . What'd El Vez say ? Some call her Elvis , some name her Rey(na) , it don't make no difference if you're Straight or Gay. SHE'S ABOUT A MOVER , SHE'S THE GROOVER ! SHE CAME , SHE SAW , SHE BROUGHT VEGAS BACK FROM THE DEAD.

Iggy Yoakum - After a 10 - year "Liqourmission" , Chicago's greatest Country Band ( Since The Sundowners , anyway.) is back , kicking asses , and taking smokes and free drinks , where they can. I'm not talkin' Insurgent Country (Which was neither.) , I'm talkin' the URGENT COUNTRY. Hardcore , Jerry Lee Lewis on Smash , Honky Tonk. Damn fine playing and songwriting. Plus a sense of humor Chicago Country missed.

Polkaholics - They're like VERY early Brave Combo , IF they'd held Johnny Thunders up there with Lil' Wally. A VERY INTERACTIVE LIVE SHOW. You WILL see bar walking , crowd - prowling , and sometimes , even mid - song bowling . They come on like they're lushes , but they are seasoned pros. It's hard not to have fun at a Polkaholics gig , unless it's a depressing dive like Red Line Tap.

Rockin' Johnny - Coooooooool - ass hep White Boy that plays the HELL out of those Blues. Not Pussy Blues , as featured at Kingston Mines and Bluesfest , but , Blues with a bite - Ike Turner , Lowell Fulsom , Earl Hooker , Otis Rush , early Muddy Waters , that sorta thang. Second guitarist , Rick , played with Muddy Waters and B.B. King.

NEW COLONY SIX - TAKING A BREAK FROM THE DEPRESSING  FAIR CIRCUIT GRIND , CHICAGO GARAGE/POP LEGENDS TESTED THE WATERS WITH A FANTASTIC ALL - GARAGE SET . EVERY SONG YOU COULD HAVE WANTED TO HEAR , AND NONE THAT YOU DID'NT. IT WAS'NT JUST GOOD , IT WAS ? AND THE MYSTERIANS - GOOD . WHETHER IT'LL HAPPEN AGAIN , I DON'T REALLY KNOW.

Most of my favorite local bands are history, so there isn't much happening around here.  The only thing I have to look forward to anymore is the occasional Cynics' gig.

Bloodshot Bill, Demons Claws, Les Sexerinos, Skip Jensen, a lot more coming and going, Im at work now so ill stop b4 i get fired

Dig this band BUG CHASER from St. Louis, playing psychedelic punk meets krautrock noise...

Another from St. Louis... DOOM TOWN

http://doomtownstl.blogspot.com/

Also, from right here in River City, we got Pokey LaFarge & the South City Three, who've been makin' some pretty major waves lately...

Interesting.  We have a similar '20s '30s hot jazz band here in Atlanta.  Perhaps there's one in every town?  I'll blame the Squirrel Nut Zippers.  :)

i'm from indianapolis aka naptown. here's some shit i like--i'm not posting my own bands although i enjoy them, haha. scenewise we are a little divided. there are good metal/hardcore/doom/punks/country bands of all kinds. here are a few faves.

the gitmos--they play sporadically but it's always fun--garagey political ranting and sometimes some raving.

coffinworm--rocking ass death metal sludge. seriously crushing and fun to watch.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VX9szPDN7Bg

craig bell (rocket from the tombs///mirrors//saucers) little trio THE DOWN-FI. good american rock and roll from a veteran of the psychic wars.

i could go on and on but here's a taste. i'm psyched to live here most days. if your band wants to come here message me on here and i'll see what i can do.

I wanna see them, but they seem to only tour Europe/UK lately.

Ghost bikini sounds great!

Fully of trashy energy and they play at a good speed. I looked them up on facebook and I really like them.... so thanks!

In my area Kent, England.....

The Spartan Dregs released Forensic R 'n' B last year. Billy Childish(from Chatham) is taking a slightly more back seat in his latest band with Neil Palmer and co

Medways Len Price 3- Last I heard were working on their next album and doing their usual smuttering of gigs

Two wounded birds from Margate! Are touring the UK and I think are due to bring their debut album out this year.

I don't have time to mention all the other good bands....

"Here's a good one...Hunger by Knut Hamsen (one of Bukowski's favourite authors). Well I though it was good anyway. Cheers."

RJFait replied to Reverend Stevee Ray's discussion the Beatles ... why NOT ?
"The Fabulous Wailers, The Leaves, The 13th Floor Elevators and The Seeds would have been some heavy shit with or without the Beatles. Would the Beatles have been nearly as heavy without them? I find that very doubtful. The Beatles were a pop…"

RJFait replied to Reverend Stevee Ray's discussion the Beatles ... why NOT ?
"I don't hate the Beatles, I just think the bulk of their work was gutless pop. At some point in the middle they started getting better drugs or something and put out a few good records. Then, they went right back to gutless pop."

RJFait replied to Rocco's discussion The Age Ole Question; Beatles or Stones?
"It's funny that you ask this. I've always said, there are 2 kinds of people, Beatles and Stones, and they don't mix well. I am definitely Stones, my wife is Beatles. If only I'd asked 11 years ago..."

RJFait replied to matthew rosedon's discussion Too old to rock?
"Yes, both pushing 70, and the last time I saw Charlie he was practically dying from the flu and still performed with more energy and rocked harder than just about any other punk singer I've seen of any age. Iggy Pop is 25 years older than I am…"
