The GaragePunk Hideout

GaragePunk.com's Social Network

I am always on the hunt for killer rock n' roll bands that I have yet to discover. Most weekends i search record bins or online for some tasty new or used vinyl to spin. So, what records are on heavy rotation on your sound system? Here are my top 3 records for this week.

1) The Points/ Maaster Gaiden split 7" (Big Action Records)

2) The King Khan and BBQ Show "Teabag Party 7" (Crypt)
3) Carbonas/ DieRotzz split 7"(Die Slaughterhaus Records)

Ladies Night "Hell on the Phone 7" (Perpetrator Records)
Ladies Night/No Feeling split 7" (Seeing Eye Records)

I dunno, I think Ladies Night is pretty much the coolest band out there right now, but I've yet to really meet somebody who shares my enthusiasm... maybe someday.

Oh yeah, and in response to yours: I played pretty much nothing but the Carbonas side of that 7" for weeks a couple of months ago. It's fucking great.

I can recommend:

Graham Day & The Gaolers - Soundtrack to the Daily Grind LP/CD (Damaged Goods Records)

The Urges - Psych Ward LP (Screaming Apple Records) CD (Stomping Ground)

Both released in the last couple of weeks.

Thanks for your comments and enthusiasm about killer records. I just purchased the Urges LP this week, but I have yet to receive it in the mail. Anyone see the Urges at Cavestomp? Ladies Night myspace songs are quite interesting....i think i will be ordering a record soon. Really great to hear a new thrash/punk band not conforming to the traditional musical schemes associated with this genre. Thanks again for rockn my turntable.

I am spinning some raw sinister garage punk records once a month at the Colley Cantina in Norfolk, Virginia. So, thanks for all of your replies to this discussion...it helps me find some gems in the record bin hunt . All the records that have been mentioned so far are really worth the effort to find, snatch, or steal ( but please steal only from large corporations and total assholes) So for the last week I have been listening to the Urges new LP on Screaming Apple. This record is complete!!! Check em out!
!) The Urges "Psych-Ward" (Screaming Apple)
2)Black Jesus (Black Lung)

3) The Vikings "High Time b/w Wanamaker" (Hit me Records)-Classic record. Recently released Vikings CD has all of these songs and all their other work. Find it.
