The GaragePunk Hideout

GaragePunk.com's Social Network

I am always on the hunt for killer rock n' roll bands that I have yet to discover. Most weekends i search record bins or online for some tasty new or used vinyl to spin. So, what records are on heavy rotation on your sound system? Here are my top 3 records for this week.

1) The Points/ Maaster Gaiden split 7" (Big Action Records)

2) The King Khan and BBQ Show "Teabag Party 7" (Crypt)
3) Carbonas/ DieRotzz split 7"(Die Slaughterhaus Records)

Busy Signals : S/T (insanely good power punk pop)
The Intelligence : Deuteronomy (weird punk, really like the Factums as well)
Magnetix : You Are The One, Baby (Aussie comp of rare tracks by France's answer to Oblivians - lethal stuff!)

One of the podcasts here on garagepunk played a really awesome tune by a band called Cool Stove a garage band from 1968 on (Starton - 5032) with the song title Big Sensation I'm not sure if the label was even indie other then singles on 45. They may have been a recording company that recorded portable, local stuff. I did find the track on a CD called Diggin' for Gold, Vol. 3 and hopefully I'll be able to find out more about them. Meantime I found a site about the band here http://coolstove.myrockspace.net/en/ you can stream the two songs they recorded on that site. Another new CD just out is a Flat Dou Jets comp (soundtrack) for the movie Two Headed Cow Really good collection of Flat Duo Jets on that disc.
