You can't have good rock'n'roll without an ice cold frosty far away.

So tell me fellow garagepunkers, whats your favourite local beer. Don't tell me Asahi unless you live in Tokyo, Steinlager is out unless you are a two headed Kiwi sheep shagger and all you Italians get to keep your Peroni's.

To get the ball rolling, my two favourite Aussie brews are both from the state of Tasmania and are from the Boag's brewery - Boag's Strong Arm, once made at a lovely 5.7% alcohol, now just a mild 5%, but still a tasty, malty king of a beer.
If I'm feeling a tad more classy a Casacade Premium lager will wet the old laughing gear. A crisp, dry honeyish drop that Mrs Yates and I will happily drink until the fridge is empty.

Stone Brewing Co. IPA from Escondido California.... delish!

and... South Bay IPA from Red Car Brewery in Torrance, California. It's made fresh in the brewpub and is amazing!!!
How may nerds here also post on the forum at BeerAdvocate.com
as a North-East PA guy I have to go with Yuengling Lager
This is the best thing about living in rural England... there's a local pub brewery, Green Jack, that does an orange wheat beer and it's the best fucking stuff. We started out a rockabilly cover band for kicks about a year ago, and pretty much the only reason we're still going is to get free pints of this stuff when we play at the pub.

I was in New York State a few years ago and we bought some local ales from some town. They were fucking horrible.
There's a great local brewery here in St. Louis called Schlafly. I really enjoy most of their brews. My current fave is their Dry-Hopped IPA. In fact, that's a mug full of Schlafly Winter ESB in my profile pic! I also really like Boulevard from Kansas City.
In my hometown we gots the brewpub by the name of the Hunter-Gatherer...damn good pale ale!
But to me honest, I ain't no beer snob...my true blue fav rave frosty: PBR! Can't be beat...
I can't drink that shit anymore. If I have to go cheap, I'll get Miller High Life. PBR gives me bad hangovers, even if I have just a few. And besides, once you get used to drinking *good* beer, it really does taste like crap. I don't consider myself a "beer snob" either, but just like food, I like beer that actually tastes good (has more flavor) as opposed to beer that tastes bad.
I'm not afraid to admit that I'm a beer snob lol... but I can still drink the shit out of some PBR if I'm in the mood.

Cheap watered down beer has it's place sometimes... hot 4th of July BBQ anyone? Paper plates?
I should mention two local micro beers that you can by in my hometown, Mountain Goat and 3 Ravens. Both a great beers, my local pub sells both. They both have a tendency to be a bit on the fruity side, and I find them less suited to the warm weather than some of the drier styles, but still nothing you would turn your nose up at.
