Hi, I'll be visiting Montreal and Quebec City soon. I'm having a tough time finding clubs, bars, etc which cater to "raunchy, wild rock'n'roll, old and new... garage, psych, punk, surf, rockabilly, soul, R&B, and lo-fi, primitive trash."
Anyone know of such places or a website/blog?
The only listings I'm finding are for jazz (which is good) and dance/ hip hop.
Thanks!

Did you have any luck finding any good spots on your trip? I may be visiting Montreal myself in a month or so.

Beatnick (on St. Denis) has a good selection of 60's garage vinyl.
Sonik (corner of Duluth and Berri) is also great for punk and other stuff.
L'Esco and Rockette (on St. Denis near Metro Mont-Royal) are great bars. L'Esco is more of a live music venue but has some punk/garage DJ nights. Rockette is DJs but there is something good almost every night.
