Alice Bag and Dawn Wirth are gonna sign their new books at La Luz de Jesus in Hollywood 10/15

Hi everyone -

Alice Bag has a new book coming out - about her life growing up in LA, being a part of the punk scene from a Hispanic and woman's point of view - with lots of stories and photos, the book is called "Violence Girl"

Dawn Wirth has a new book out called "The Bags Hollywood Forever" consisting of mostly un-published photos of The Bags taken at the Hollywood Forever Cemetary in 1978. Dawn was part of the original Masque scene as a young teen and snapped lots of photos of the bands and people

Together they are doing a book signing party complete with an Alice Bag Brownies (cooked by Dawn) giveaway!

Here's the address, date, etc!! If you are in the LA area, come out - the event is free.

To commemorate Alice's biography, Artifix Records is releasing a special limited 7" EP with songs from Alice's various bands. There will be 50 test pressings on solid black vinyl with NO labels that will be autographed by Alice herself using a paint marker in the area where the label woudl have been. These will be available for purchase (one per customer) starting at her book singing at TKO Records and ending when the 50 copies are sold out. A regular edition on red vinyl will be out shortly thereafter with a full-color painted cover. The songs are:

ALICE BAG "Violence Girl" EP

-side A:

BAGS "We Will Bury You" 1:55
CASTRATION SQUAD "Date With Jack" 2:14
STAY AT HOME BOMB "Missed Your Mark" 1:21

-side B:

GODDESS 13 "Happy Accident" 3:45
CHOLITA "Chinga Tu Madre" 2:19

Thanks, Greg/Artifix

Lee , You MAY OR MAY NOT REMEMBER , I OPENED UP FOR YOU AND DAVIE ALLAN AND THE KNOXVILLE GIRLS AT THE LOUNGE AX , IN CHICAGO , IN 1999.

This book looks very interesting. The widely undocumented (VERY poor choice of words , sorry.) influence and involvement of Latino/as in the LA Punk scene deserves an overview , and Alice is the woman for the job.           Be well , John Battles .

Alice just did a performance and reading at the Chicago Reckless records , it was very cool. If anyone's even reading this , I urge you to attend ,should this tour stop through your town. I just started reading Alice's book. She speaks of much hardship as a child , but , is'nt asking the reader to have pity , just to understand that there was a good side to it , too.....Like her sister turning her on to Los Teen Tops , Enrique Guzman , and , oh yeah , The Beatles......And playing with her Barbie Dolls.....
