After being a fan of Rev. Ivan Stang and his Church of the SubGenius for well over 25 years, I finally decided to become a member last week. I ordered a T-shirt and sent off for the ordainment kit, so I am now an officially ordained minister in the church and a devoted follower of J.R. "Bob" Dobbs. But now I'm supposed to send in the postcard with my Church Name, so I need to come up with something good... I was going to use Dr. Gonzo or Rev. Louie Louie (they have to be either "Dr." or "Rev." something), but I found out those are already taken. Rev. Kopper just sounds a little boring to me and I'd like to come up with something fresh and new, and it'd be even better if it was similar to a lot of the really cool/funny punk rock pseudonyms that have been used. Here's my short list of choices:

Rev. Rico Hot Sauce
Dr. Yuk
Dr. Ripxoid (pronounced rip-zoid)
Rev. Max Wedge
Rev. Capt. Nonsensical
Dr./Rev. Lux Exterior
Rev. Duncan Disorderly
Dr. Frank N. Furter
Rev. Riff Raff
(yeah, I used to be a big Rocky Horror freak!)

Any other ideas?

Also, do we have any other SubGenius ordained ministers here? It'd be great to find out if any of the rest of you have SLACK and are on board and if you've ever been to an X-Day party and participate in any of their online groups/forums.

Praise "Bob"!

I've been an Ordained Minister in the Church of the Subgenius since the early '80s, but I sadly cannot remember my church name. It's on a card somewhere!

Dr. Kopper Feel

Very good , sir.  I used to live in Dallas , and I knew quite a few Subgenius people. I think I met Stang , once. I liked the initial concept , but , not enough to join.  I was friendly with 'em , tho' , you know.....Howzabout Rev. Drunken Donuts ? Can you be called Rev. Mr. Yuk ?

Perhaps Rev. Kopper Feelgood

Unless of course you can use both: Dr. Rev.

Or Doctor Kopper Feelgood.   Oh , you sort of said that.....

I went ahead and just used Rev. Kopper, although I gotta admit that "Kopper Feelgood" is pretty damned funny. Thanks for the suggestions!

Changed my mind and emailed Stang and told him to change it on my card to Dr. Kopper Feelgood. Couldn't shake that one! Once I ran it through my head a few times it just stuck. Thanks again, guys! You rule.

I'm touched....you know , in a masculine , noncommital sort of way.

Alex replied to Mike M's discussion Stoked! Just bought a record I've been after for 32 years. What's your lost record?
"Last year, I found "Kill M.O.T.O." by M.O.T.O., which I had been looking for for a long time.  Found it at a great price too.  Still looking for an original "Inflammable Material" by Stiff Little Fingers..."
