This might have been asked a thousand times but what is everyone reading now? I'm read Jupiter's Travels by Ted Simon. Its a true story about a guy who drives around the world on his motorcycle. It started out a bit slow but I'm really enjoying the bit where he is in Africa. Anyone else?

I'm 2/3s through the latest sci-fi epic by Iain M Banks "Matter", not his best, but any book by Banks is worth a read.

It's a vast sprawling space opera, check out Banks's website for some info on him and his many a nd variuos writings, not all of them sci-fi.

I just bought it, with a lot of pictures, original page copies, stories, etc.

I just finished 1491 by Charles C. Manning. It is now becoming accepted that the Americas were more populated and the Indians were more advanced than what we were taught. Genetic bottlenecking and cultural differences provided a fertile ground for devastating epidemics. It's a riveting read for a history book. I'm also reading Silence On The Wire, Ghost Planes and The Fountains of Paradise. I also just finished The Accidental Mind; it was a tough read but worth it in the end. It basically explains how the human mind ended up inventing god.

I just finished Blood Electric by Kenji Siratori. Insane experimental Japanese cyberpunk. Totally deviant and twisted. Highly recommended.

I've been on a Cormac McCarthy kick (yeah I know No Country For Old Men, how cliche). I re-read Blood Meridian two weeks ago. That damn book gets better every time.

Getting ready to teach Temple of the Golden Pavilion to my youngins, so I'll be re-reading that this week.

I'm re-reading "Red Harvest" by Dashiell Hammett, and I'm liking it more now than before.

I'm halfway through Pictures at a Revolution. It's about the making of the five best picture nominees of 1968 (The Graduate, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, In the Heat of the Night, Bonnie and Clyde and Dr. Doolittle). Rex Harrison was a fucking asshole.

I'm currently reading "The Doom Patrol Archives vol.4" and "Exploding: The Warner Brothers Records Story" by Stan Cornyn, the crazy guy who ran all those weird ads for WB Records in the 70's, like the free dirt giveaway for Neil Young's second album, or the Van Dyke Parks 1 cent album offer. Great book!
