I DJ here in Champaign, IL too - this weekend (Jan 26th) Saturday night, but from Feb. 1st on I will be moving to FRIDAYS at a crummy and wonderful hipster punk townie Irish pub called Mike 'n Molly's. $1 cover. Cheap booze (come down from Chicago!) and it's right across from the train station. Dance party, baby!

Totally - let me know when... i know they have soul and mod nights in Chicago which is 60s and all, so great, but there is only so much hammond organ this girl can take in one night. A good friend of mine who also DJs just moved to Chicago - we used to DJ together - played soul, ska, punk, garage, rhythm & blues, funk, etc ...
And her husband has a band called The Living Blue, they won the Little Steven's battle of the garage bands a few years back - great stuff - we should put together a big garage night - djs, bands, garage garage sale, etc - or somethin' ...

I'm in DeKalb - just moved a couple months ago from Wisconsin. But my wife is from the Champaign area! We used to hang around in C-U years ago, but don't get there often enough anymore. Anyway, in the event that we're in town on a Friday, we'll have to stop in.

I also live in SoILL, a few miles from C'dale. Have been playing guitar + bass for years, never in an active band. (Drank for years, that's ended). Possess valid driver's license, no car. Will be looking to relocate soon; roomie situation becoming intolerable.
Interested in playing stuff that can be danced to. The clubs in C'dale are mostly empty during the summer, which blows.
