BANNER ADS ON THE HIDEOUT:

The GaragePunk Hideout is no longer free to maintain as Ning began requiring premium accounts for all of their networks in July 2010. The $50/month cost to now keep the site up is by no means astronomical, but, by the same token, we need to continue selling banner ads to help cover hosting expenses and to keep it going indefinitely into the future. But this site has been doing very well lately and more and more people are joining daily (over 7,500 members as of July 2012, in fact), so the placement of these ads on this network is superb for bringing attention to your band, label, store, business, or project. In other words, this is the perfect niche audience to target if you have something of interest to the underground/garage/punk/rock'n'roll crowd. And these ads are dirt cheap! The pricing has been set so that they should be affordable for just about anyone and get more than your money's worth in return. The ads are now being priced by pageview ("adview") instead of a monthly rate, so you'll actually be getting *exactly* what you paid for. Read on...

There is now just one size banner ad that you can purchase to advertise your band, label, show, store, service, whatever. It appears in the sidebar on the right which gets displayed on every page of the network. The cost of this ad is a tenth of a cent per pageview ($1 CPM). Keep in mind, with all of the pageviews this site gets, you will have to purchase more views to keep the ad running longer.

TRAFFIC: Right now (July 2012) the site is averaging over 6,000 pageviews per day, or 180,000 per month (but this number is steadily increasing). So, for example, if you wanted to purchase a banner ad for $50, that would buy you 50,000 pageviews at the $1 CPM (cost per thousand pageviews) rate. And depending on how many other ads we have running concurrently with yours, it could take as little as a couple weeks to hit that mark, or it could take much longer if we have other ads running (and sharing the daily pageviews) alongside your ad. But we are also able to set a target number of adviews per day, too, which can increase the priority that your ad gets compared with the others. Basically, whatever you need to accomplish with your ad can be done, just let me know exactly what it is you want to do and I can work with you on it. Here are the specs for ads:

AD SIZE

Hideout Banner Ad - IAB Medium Rectangle, 300 x 250 (300 pixels wide by 250 pixels high), a half cent per pageview ($1 CPM).

Adviews (Select One)

Animated GIFs or flash ads are OK. I can host them locally or link to them off-site, whatever is easiest for you. After you process your payment, contact me about getting your ad set up. Thanks!

GOOGLE ADWORDS: Another option is to advertise here using Google Adwords. In order to do that, you will need to sign up through Google and make sure that you use keywords that will find this site, such as "garage," "punk," "garagepunk," "hideout," etc. The more keywords that are appropriate for this site, the better chance your ad will appear here.

Welcome to The Hideout
