GaragePunk Hideout Comp Series

Click the album covers above for track lists and more details on each volume.

The Hideout Comp Series is a collection of digital (download-only) compilation albums of bands and/or musicians who are (or once were) members of this website released on the GRGPNK Records netlabel. We will continue to release future volumes in this series at the rate of a few per year as long as we continue to receive submissions from bands on the site that are worthy of inclusion. This is being done to hopefully give some extra publicity and exposure to "our" bands as well as to use money from sales on various online stores to help pay our hosting fees with Ning and DreamHost. You can read more about the original idea behind this in this forum discussion (which is also a good place for people to comment about the series).

If you're in a band that would like to submit a song to be considered for inclusion in a future volume in this series, please click here for a page of instructions on doing just that. Keep in mind that this is a "Best Of" series, meaning not ALL songs submitted will be included. We'll hand-select which songs we like best from all those uploaded to our drop box and put them on the comps.

ARE THE COMPS FREE? No, not any more. For the first year or two they were made available for free for "active" members of the site, but it became increasingly difficult to manage which members were "active" enough to qualify, and new members didn't understand the requirement and it was honestly getting pretty tiresome to try and explain it to everyone, so after some thought, it was decided to just make each volume available for just a $7 donation. There, problem solved. The money will go towards helping to pay for our hosting costs and other fees associated with keeping the Hideout up and running as the best place on the Web to go for your trashy, primitive rock-n-roll kicks, and we feel they're still cheap enough that no one should feel like they're getting ripped off.

HOWEVER, we will make an exception to any members of any of the bands featured on the comps, as well as any radio show/podcast hosts, station, and 'zines/record reviewers. If this is you, and you'd like to request a freebie "promo" download of them, please use the Contact page to get in touch. Thanks!

Bands/Musicians wanting to submit songs for consideration on future volumes in the series should CLICK HERE for instructions and terms. Thanks!

"Boy , if this had been available for (Ugh) viewing and (UGH!!!) listening in the 40's , The Axis powers would have imploded much faster , and The Allies would have won WWII without dropping the H- Bomb.   "
