Using GarageBand and recording

Hey there,  I'm trying to record guitar using GarageBand, for a recording project where the bass player and drummer live in different countries. How do we sync up our parts? Do I have to use a metronome and if so, how is this done? Do I try to sync each downstroke to the beat of the metronome? 'Cos I tried it and it sounded kind of mechanical, not in a good way. Also - anyone used the built-in guitar amps on GarageBand? Which amp/setting is best for a classic first-Ramones-album guitar sound?See More

Bass-player, drummer, female vocalist needed to make 7"

Hey there!! I want to make a 7" very soon - this is a recording only project so your location doesn't matter! I have guitar tracks and guide vocal, but need female vox, bass and drums! Music is fierce garagey new-wave in the vein of early Donnas, Loli and the Chones, Ramones. Really rough guitar with great tunes! I will finance the pressing of 500 copies. Join me!!! Age, inexperience etc irrelevant! Thanks, Chris  See More

Chris i'd be up for playing on your 7" project.

I can play guitar or bass and have played in other bands and stuff in the past.

I really like the idea of what you are doing.

Contact me if you're interested.

Hi. Yeah, we only pressed 100 I think they're all gone. There might be a couple left collecting dust in some Australian record stores.
I played bass and did half the vocal duties. I cam play rhythm guitar, but c am extremely shut at leads. I also haven't picked a guitar up for over 6 months, so playing again should be interesting!
I'd be happy to just get a couple of songs together and record. It could be done in a weekend. Even an afternoon if you have access to an 8 track and amps and mics etc.
Are there any UK bands you recommend I check out while I'm here?

Hey. Also, can you recommend any local bands to go and check out?
I've found it a bit difficult to find good shows around London. Cheers, Andrew

Hey Chris. I saw your band members wanted post.
The sound you're looking for is exactly what I'm into - I love all the old Rip Off Records stuff.
Have a listen to the songs on our page to get an idea of what ive done before.
I'm in London from now until about January next year. I'd be interested to join.
Although, I don't have any gear with me and wouldn't be able to devote massive amounts of time to practicing / recording as I have to work full time during the week. Obviously, I'm happy to take the time to jam and record, but I was thinking maybe only like one night a week?
Let me know what you think. Are you in London? Or Cambridge?

Tropic of Cancer/Delta of Venus

I believe I am posting way too much but without all the fistfights and kids jumping out of (1st floor)  windows because of summer break I am a bit bored. Anyway, there was a Henry Miller discussion in this group recently and while watching After Hours for research purposes last night Tropic of Cancer by Henry Miller came up. I took that to be a bit of a sign. The most impressive thing about Henry Miller was his ability to riff on any given subject for five minutes or five hours at a time.…See More
