This month's Soul a G0-G0 will be dedicated to our late friend, Carlos Alvarez.
DJ Mic-lo joins me for a night of all '60s soul 45s (Girlsoul has been working hard and needed a rest), many that C.A. loved.

After the crowd at Matchless went total apecrap for my soul 45s the last two weeks, it is time to haul 'em over to the Soul a G0-G0 dance.
Except 6 hours of '60s soul power; I dug up a bunch of semi-forgotten 45s for this. Partner Girlsoul has lots of new ones.
Special guest Connie The Empress of the Empire State Soul Club will be on hand signing autographs and playing a set of her favorites.

has passed away at 29. We are putting on a DJ benefit to raise money for his family's expenses.
This will be Sunday night, August 23.Glasslands (289 Kent Ave., between S. 1st
and S. 2nd) hosts a party to raise funds for Carlos's loved ones to cover
funeral expenses.8 till late, $8 admission (100 percent of it goes
Carlos's people), further donations welcome but not required.
Mr. Fine Wine, myself and many others will be
DJing sets of Carlos's favorites and soul classics after which there'll be some memorial speaking andremembering and a multimedia show.
Then Mr. Jonathan Toubin (New YorkNight Train) kicks the party into high gear at midnight.

- Juliet of the spirits! Friend and lovely Matchless bartender, Juliet, was injured in a horrific motorcycle accident.
Juliet will need extensive medical care and the doctors expect it to take 6 – 9 months for her to re-learn to walk, let alone work.
On June 16th we will be replacing our regular 2 for Tuesday at Matchless with a 3 for Tuesday Benefit to raise money for Juliet's many expenses
