Convenient to the L or G trains (Metropolitan/Lorimer stop) and the B62 bus. We had a wild turnout last week at Satellite Lounge, so don't miss the fun this time.

After the crowd at Matchless went total apecrap for my soul 45s the last two weeks, it is time to haul 'em over to the Soul a G0-G0 dance.

Except 6 hours of '60s soul power; I dug up a bunch of semi-forgotten 45s for this. Partner Girlsoul has lots of new ones.

Carlos Alvarez, whom you may have known as that far-out dancer at soul events

has passed away at 29. We are putting on a DJ benefit to raise money for his family's expenses.



This will be Sunday night, August 23.Glasslands (289 Kent Ave., between S. 1st
and S. 2nd) hosts a party to raise funds for Carlos's loved ones to cover
funeral expenses.8 till late, $8 admission (100 percent of it goes
Carlos's people), further donations welcome but not required.



Mr. Fine Wine, myself and many others will be
DJing sets of Carlos's favorites and soul classics after which there'll be some memorial speaking andremembering and a multimedia show.
