I know I may take a beating for this but, has anyone turned on the radio and been inspired to write? What is this overproduced cock rock that the radio stations and major labels are putting out? I can honestly say that witout a doubt that modern rock blows. I miss vinyl records, yes I know I am only 26 years old and the whole record thing was long dead before I was even here on Earth. Nowadays I believe that my style of songwriting falls in the middle of that list, or at least I hope that it does.
P.S. Sounds like you got a cool scene goin there.
Cover songs are good so your audience can get a feel for your sound. They serve as comfort and iclimatization. Some of the best shows I've seen the band would open up with a cover.
I've actually never been to the Smokehouse. Guess I should get out and do that stuff some. But if you see a really tall goofy looking guy there, that would be me.
