About Me:
Dorottya is a New York based independent producer originally from Hungary.
After working 7 years in the television industry in Budapest as a Production Coordinator, Assistant to Producer, Dorottya following her relentless ambition for an international carrier moved to New York in order to expand her networking opportunities and get hands on experience in American filmmaking.
She graduated from the New York Film Academy’s One-Year Producing Program in 2007. During her studies she produced ‘Pepperoni’, a critically acclaimed short film that was screened at many film festivals worldwide, including the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival and got a distribution deal with Elypse Films.
Dorottya recently become an Associate Artist at An Films, LLC an independent film and video production company. She contributed substantially in a number of their projects, working as a DP and editor of the ‘Popsci’ webseries, the ‘Greenwich Music Festival’ and as a Production Manager and Camera Operator for the video dance-theatre piece ‘Impermanent Collection: The Whitney Museum of American Art’.
In 2008 she co-produced her first feature length music documentary ‘Pardon Us For Living But The Graveyard Is Full’ which premiered in 2009 at the Florida Film Festival. Dorottya is extremely pleased of her involvement in the film since together with the director, Geoffray Barbier it was an enthusiastic, passionate and collaborative effort to turn The Fleshtones 30-year rollercoaster journey into 65 minutes.
In the meantime Dorottya worked on several short films as a production coordinator and producer while working part-time at the New York Film Academy and producing-directing a retrospective documentary ‘Devoted To Dance’ in association with An Films on a remarkable Hungarian ballet dancer, choreographer.
In the future besides documentaries Dorottya is planning to produce independent feature films not only in America but working with international crew in Hungary as well.
