Cowboys and Double-neck Danelectros

Posted on May 17, 2008 at 1:30am 1 Comment

So I'm standing in a waiting room and I see the Beverly Hillbillies playing on a tv across the room. The grandpa is doing an Elvis dance in a gold cowboy suit with a double-neck Danelectro guitar.. Of course I was thinking that it would be great stuff for a cut-up clip video or something. Then later tonight, while looking at a band on myspace, I see this from the Monochrome Set page:

Why do random things happen like that? I have no… Continue

I was going to make one for Guitar Tabs and Lyrics. I thought that might be interesting. Guess not. Oh, well. This is garage rock, who needs lyrics or tabs.

I haven't used this nifty blog thing yet so I figured why not come up with something? So here's my top ten sixties garage tunes to fuel the spastic dance sessions in your bedroom with the stereo up loud (don't tell me I'm the only one!).

Baja Tech Custom Bone Bender. Has a 9v ac jack which differs from most other tone benders. Also has a 'kill' control, which I'm not even sure what it does just yet. Still waiting for it in the mail, oh how I love a fuzz. Hopefully it's pretty raspy.

My good sir

I'm not a specialist of Christian rock but I do like The Pilgrims from UK very much, and a great comp named "God in the garage". The sole 1970 New Dawn magnificent LP can be considered Christian rock too I guess. Ed Nadorozny did two garage punk forums on the subject. James aka the Plague was supposed to send them to me but I guess he forgot.

And Alabama is a great state too. We made two shows on it. 3 hours full of rock'n'roll, segregation and corn liquor.

Yeaaaahhhhh
