I was there in the late seventies early eighties, hangin' out with the Demics etc.Keith Whittaker was a good friend of mine. Got to party with the Ramones, Blondie, 999, Buzzcocks, and of course all the Canadian bands too many to mention now. Of course I played in my own band "Spastiks". They still call me Jimmyspaz.

Rockabilly, Ska, Reggae, Rock 'n' Roll, Roots Rock, Hard Country, Cow punk, Punk...... and so on.

I first got into Los Shakers when I started playing in a Merseybeat band in Oakland, the Beatcombers. The other guys were a wealth of info with vast knowledge and record collections. I came across the video on a Uraguay cultural website. Theres loads of Los Shakers vids on youtube now. Rompan Todo!

I'd forgotten about that place.
I remeber getting interviewed there in the early 80's for some paper, and I was taking a drink before replying to a question, and I accidently inhaled an ice cube out of my glass and into my lung.

Yeah I know what you mean, I probably didn't get tit yet at that point either,I was playing the same kind of stuff you were and hangin' out with Thundermug(stillgood pals) and those of that ilk. Did the Storm ever play at place in Clinton Ontario called the Elm Haven? I seem to remember that but I might have been stoned.....

I know the Ridout doesn't count, that's just the point where they intersect with me. At that time I was plying like everyone else who plyed the R, so what I remember is that they could barely play in the traditional sense. They were sloppy, probably out of tune, etc. Possibly covered Pistols/Ramones. But they had the swagger, and managed to keep the clientele speechless for at least the first couple of songs before the catcalls started.
