Joe replied to shmo's discussion "it came from detroit" out soon?
"I just heard about this flick from a band's Facebook.  I  guess I missed this thread the first time around.  The film really looks incredible - Dirtbombs, Hentchmen, Detroit Cobras, et al. - so I hope it sees the light of day…"

Joe replied to Mike M's discussion Stoked! Just bought a record I've been after for 32 years. What's your lost record?
"My local record store picked up a massive punk and garage collection last year - apparently the stock of some defunct distributor, because most of the LPs were still sealed.  I was able to find lots of records I'd been wanting for…"

Joe replied to Andy Climax's discussion The Concept of Punk
"Two punk albums come to mind immediately, although they are only loose concept albums: The Makers - Rock Star God (2000)Sham 69 - That's Life (1978) Both are hit-n-miss affairs, in my opinion, and a little dull in comparison to their earlier…"

"I missed one of your criteria - The Monofones aren't American - oops!  Here's a few amazing and relatively new female-fronted bands: The Woolly Bandits (from Los Angeles, with Sky Saxon's former backing band) A Giant…"

Joe replied to Wipeout!'s discussion obligatory 'BEST OF 2012' discussion
"I should clarify that those are the band's words, not mine (Blue Cheer is swell!)  Atomic Suplex does a cover of "Summertime Blues" on their new EP, so I think it's a tongue-in-cheek reference.  "

Joe replied to Wipeout!'s discussion obligatory 'BEST OF 2012' discussion
"I think it was self-released by the band as a digital download only ($4 from Amazon) in August. The title track is a killer! From their Facebook page: "Available today on iTunes and all digital stores is Diamond Skull, the new Atomic Suplex EP…"

Joe replied to Wipeout!'s discussion obligatory 'BEST OF 2012' discussion
"It's tough to make a "Best of" list, when I know there's still so much stuff released in 2012 that I should've listened to, but haven't yet.  Anyway, my Top Six Albums/EPs for 2012, in no particular order: Atomic…"
