fIND THAT SONG , AT ALL COSTS.

If it got you thru the day 10 , 20 , 30 years ago ,and you don't have it , then , you have a quest.  It took me almost 30 years to find my song - "Strange Boutique" by The Monochrome Set. It was my song , in High School. I'D PLAY IT IN THE MORNING , AND I COULD FACE HIGH SCHOOL......"DOWN TO YOU" BY THE REAL KIDS HAD A SIMILAR EFFECT ON ME , BUT ,THANKFULLY , HIGH SCHOOL WAS NOT THE NOSTALGIC AFTERBIRTH SO MANY PEOPLE MAKE IT OUT TO BE. I REMEMBER WHERE I WAS WHEN I FIRST HEARD "KNOW YOUR PRODUCT " BY THE SAINTS , AND DRIVING AROUND , BLASTING TAPES OF GEORGE GIMARC'S SHOW (KZEW DALLAS .) , LIKE THE INTRO TO "THAT 70'S SHOW". OR , SOMETIMES IT WAS  A TAPE OF "BOZO'S BIRTHDAY PARTY".

MY ALMA COGEN IS HAVING IT'S 30TH ANNIVERSARY REUNION. KIND OF SAD.

 George "Goober " Lindsay Dies.

Not much info , yet. But George Lindsay , beloved for over 50 years for his characterization as Goober Pyle , Gomer's "Sorta NAVE" Cousin (Yes , he was slower than Gomer , but usually landed on his feet , while Gomer was still trying to find his shoes. ). Initially , they were supposed to be related on their Mothers' side , and Goober had a different surname , but , that probably caused confusion....Andy and Barney were originally portrayed as cousins ,…

Chicago's Dirty Wurds , who cut the immortal Punk Screamer , "Why" , had a revolving door policy , particularly regarding Drummers and Bassists , but, Carter is regarded as the best - known Drummer in the band , and remained friends with his former bandmates and their associates up to the time of his demise. Tropic of Cancer/Delta of Venus

I believe I am posting way too much but without all the fistfights and kids jumping out of (1st floor)  windows because of summer break I am a bit bored. I took that to be a bit of a sign. The most impressive thing about Henry Miller was his ability to riff on any given subject for five minutes or five hours at a time.…See More
