Relationship Status:

About Me:
ok, i'm giving this thing a shot. mainly to spread some music around.

i'm the "singer" in the world's greatest trained animal act, thee monkey butlers.

i like to make various compilations using whatever method i can: my own collection, sousleek, etc.

over the years i've made some comps that you may have stumbled across on soulseek.

--songs we taught the mummies
--songs we taught jack, eric, and greg (oblivian)
--songs we taught billy childish
--songs we taught walter daniels
--nimereht's one man band -0-mara
--something weird audio volumes one and two

as well as a series of 45 comps that just started as a way to keep all my 45's on my ipod--Kogar's Hodge Podge and Mirage. I just posted voume 10 on this page so you can check it out if you don't have soulseek.

the thing i'm most proud of (and that has taken on a life of its own) is my Lux and Ivy's Favorites series.

this started out as a way to keep track of songs that lux and or ivy mentioned in various interviews, etc. i jotted down the songs and started trying to track them down so i could make personal comps of these songs.

this was the time of napster, so eventually i posted the first 2 volumes there for other people to check out.

since then i've made a total of 9 volumes and i'm working on a tenth.

i also do a weekly myspace mp3 blog with various themes that you can download and after 8 weeks or so, you have enough mp3's to fill a cd.

if you're on soulseek my user name is:

nimereht

check out my myspace blog at

http://www.myspace.com/kogartheswingingape

a new volume just started up. if you're interested just subscribe to the blog and you'll get updates everyweek.

depending on how the hideout works out, i will post other comps to this page so people can check those out as well. (lux and ivy favorites, other hodge podge volumes, etc.)
Website:

Favorite Music:
the cramps, the gories, guitar wolf, billy childish, the sonics, the mummies, haunted george, anything on norton or crypt, fool's paradise w/rex, dave the spazz, buying crazy instrumental/jungle/las vegas grind type 45's.
Favorite Movies:
monkey movies, coen brothers, monster movies, something weird video, jack elam, warren oats, kinji fukasaku, etc etc

Lux and Ivy's Favorites Volume Twelve - The Lux Interior Memorial Edition - Journey into Outer Space

This is the first LAIF with some liner notes (about the music contained herein). I felt a need to at least tell a bit about the songs etc.

This is also the first edition with a title other than LAIF and a volume number.

This volume, I felt, should always be remembered as the one that “came out” after Lux’s passing.

While most of it was being compiled, it was being compiled with the knowledge that Lux is no longer with us. It really affected the song choices and their sequencing.

It was sort… Continue

Lux and Ivy's Favorites volume one - four + fool's paradise interview.

Ok, let’s start with this.

This is an amazing interview with lux and ivy that rex doane conducted for his show, Fool’s Paradise, back when HOW TO MAKE A MONSTER came out.

This interview is essential for truly understanding the mythos of the cramps.

Yes, the cramps made amazing music, and amazing contributions to the history of music, but to really get a good idea of where they are coming from, is to listen to the music that inspired them.

If you think its all crazy rockabilly, you’re wrong.… Continue

More Mad Mike Madness Conclusion!

Well, here we go, the last 4 songs for this volume of More Mad Mike Madness.

Song Twenty-Six: the revels – rampage – I imagine this song being played at dances and the crowd sounds in the song mingling with the actual crowd. I wonder if the kids knew it was on the record? Or if they just thought it was the “crowd”…?

Song Twenty-Seven: the keynotes - zenda – Mad Mike named his German Shepard after this song, so I had to include it here.
