So, what did they say about Les BOF! ???
Check out Les BOF! debut album!
European Garage Festival regulars Les BOF! finally get round to releasing their long awaited debut album. This Edinburgh based quartet stomp through an almost entirely self-penned set of French language garage punk rave-ups throwing in couple of Les Miserables and Les Sunlights covers to boot. ‘Nous Sommes . . . Les BOF!’features the same set which sent audiences ape-shit wild from Oslo to Parma and London to Berlin over the past three years, many at international festivals sharing a stage with the likes of Billy Childish, The Masonics and The Downliners Sect.
Unhappy with current recording studio situation in UK the band set about building their own studio to record the album, which might explain why it has taken so long to finish. The stunning results were well worth the wait I’m sure you’ll agree!
The band feature suave singer Laurent Mombel, Marseilles' original ‘Rock & Roll Vandal’ and guitarist Angus McPake, currently playing guitar and organ with The Thanes and also 12 string with legendary reformed Glasgow 60s beat group The Poets.
‘Nous Sommes . . . Les BOF!’ is 14 ‘formidable’ killer tracks of storming yé-yé and out-and-out primitive rock & roll.
Fancy some cool French 60’s beat? Aah! Mes amis, don’t look no further!!!
Available on Vinyl, download and CD from CopaseDisques @ Copasetic Mail Order
Who are Les BOF! ?
Taking the likes of Jacques Dutronc and Ronnie Bird as a rough starting point, Les BOF! play raw R’n’B and Garage Beat with a French bent. Formed in early 2006 by two members of The Thanes, they set about finding the perfect front man with a handle on the language.

Laurent Mombel a native of Marseille took up the challenge and within a couple of weeks they were playing their first gig in support of The Gussets.
‘BOF!’ literally translates as `don’t care!' or `not interested!' but do not see there a group for which one would not have to be interested, but rather a group universally rejected by the established order - a situation, we are sure, you all know too well and with which you can only sympathize.
The band now play regularly at the Suite 69 club in their home town of Edinburgh, a club almost tailor made for them, playing exclusively French 60’s Ye-ye and beat music.
Their first EP appeared on vinyl on the CopaseDisques label and featured covers of Benny Spellman’s “Fortune Teller”, Them’s “I Can Only Give You Everything” and Bobby Parker’s “Watch Your Step” plus an original track and gives just a taste of their high octane live set.
First 4 titles 7" EP (SOLD OUT) 'LES BOF!' on copaseDisques.

Les BOF! will appear on the first Beatsville records release (a compilation of local bands) and a LP is on is way on the same German label again featuring several original songs.
The band can also be heard trying out their new material across Europe this Year. After the famous Primitive Festival last June as well as two successful gigs in Danmark and a show the Gutterball Fest in Oslo, the band will be playing in Spain for the first time. Check them out at the Purple WeekendFestival and there is more to comme...
