I like a lot of music. My tastes tend to swing towards surf/garage rock, punk rock and most music that is weird, surreal, absurd or just original in some way.
I make my own music under the moniker Lt. Meat and if you are so inclined there's a load of free mp3s at http://www.steakrecords.com/freestuff.html . It's all different stuff really but I do tend to try and get some nice surf twang and spring reverb action in most of my tracks.
Man or Astroman? Shadowy Men On A Shadowy Planet, Hot Snakes, The Night Marchers, RFTC, most surf/garage type bands (there's too many to mention), The Jesus Lizard, Brainiac, Enon, Model/Actress, Messer Chups, Ennio Morricone, trash, sleaze, 70s porn soundtracks. I like loads really get in touch and I'll tell you.
Favorite Movies:
The Dark Knight (and most Batman/Comic Book Movies), Superbad, Children of Men, The Assasination of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford, There Will Be Blood, No Country For Old Men, Me, You and Everyone We Know, I Love Huckabees, Dogtown and the Z-Boys, Skate Videos, a lot of foreign films as they are mostly better than Hollywood.
Favorite GaragePunk.com Podcast(s):
Garage Punk Surf Cast, Savage Kicks, Flying Saucer Rock N Roll, Killed by Porn, Sonic Nightmares.
Unfortunately I'm not in Los Imbasils but are one of their biggest fans. I actually DJ for Elmer (of the Imbasils) at the Fratcave each month, use to play in The Unchayned and am in the process of launching our new band The Savage Mynds.
Next Fratcave is this Sat and our first gig will be in Nov supporting The Fuzztones in Bristol. Hoepfully you can make it to both.
Hey there I see you like Les BOF- you will have to come see them at The Fratcave. Bristols not to far from South Wales.
With regards to bands playing South Wales - send us some details on what you have regarding venues to play at etc. Our band The Savage Mynds may be interested but I can forward the info to other bands we know as well.
Hello all,
I was hoping someone could tell me if they have any experience with the record buy/sell/trade site GEMM. I'm wanting to thin down my collection and have a good place to flip bargain bin treasures (I'm at the flea markets a lot). I can't...
'70s/'80s group (proto punk, pub rock, boogie rock, glam, power pop, new wave, Killed by Death-era punk rock, early hardcore, swamp rock, the '80s garage/surf revival, paisley underground, shoegazer, etc.).
