Profile Information

Location:
Austin, TX
Relationship Status:
Single
Bio:
Born Davenport, IA (Bixville) in 1967 to a guitar repairman and an RN. Moved to Dallas, TX at age seven. Parents separated when I was 8. Went to private school at age 13 and was in a mental hospital in Terrell, TX from 1981 to 1983. In 83 moved to Forney TX where the only thing good was the antique stores (which are mostly gone now thanks to Walmart). Tried several career changes none of which worked out very well including travel agent, truck driver, long shoreman and the army. Moved to Laramie, WYO from 1999 to 2001. In 2002 lived in San Antonio as a medical bill collector. In 2003 moved to Austin, TX where I used to be a tech support phone operator but got laid off and then worked different pizza delivery jobs. Had my own pirate radio show on KAOS in 2006 called Morgan's Stone Age Garage.
Website:

Favorite Music/Influences (list some bands, musicians, genres, etc.):
real 50s Rockabilly, 60s garage, old school punk, ragtime, classical, Nick Cave, The Pixies, Hank III, Link Wray, BBQ Show, Cramps, Gories, pre and post war blues, 1920s Red Hot Jazz, 40s jump boogie, 70s power pop, Modernlovers, Jean Shepard
Favorite Movies:
Spaghetti Westerns, the usual 1930s thu 70s exploiteers; Irving Klaw, Sid Davis, Herschell Gordon Lewis, Ray Dennis Steckler, Russ Meyer, Doris Wishman, William Castle, Al Adamson etc. Poverty Row stuff, film noir, Fassbinder, Coffin Joe, silent films, Mexican Horror, Italian Horror, blaxploitation, Kenneth Anger, Italian "sword and sandal" Hercules movies
Other Hobbies/Interests:
I've written some songs that have never been recorded other than some very low fi videos on YouTube. I can play some classical and ragtime piano. Sometimes I write insane poetry. My art consist of drawings of obscure B movie queens mostly. Or some girl who broke my heart. I'm obsessed with old things and spend time in Antique stores buying junk nobody else wants when I can. I like to read trashy pulp novels from the 50s with Robert McGinnis art work on the cover. I like Russian and Ancient Greek literature too. I'm obsessed with trains and train tracks, and I can stare at an old building for minutes at a time for its beauty or wondering about the people who once lived there.
Favorite Show(s) on GaragePunk Pirate Radio:
Ixnay Ray is cool. He's on my Facebook. And Dirtbag surfer is cool too.

Hi Morgan,  Lola was reading the discussion we had about her and got very pissed off.  She was able to get my password from our conversation and went into my Facebook account and switched my password.  I have no way of knowing what word she used, so I shut down my page.

Thanks for the movies-truly inspired choices!
