I downloaded this years ago from Napster. It was listed as the Kaleidoscope and the song as Leaving Here. This is not a song I believe is actually recorded by either band named the Kaleidoscope (US…Continue

Song of the Week: The Esquires perform Judgement Day

Listen - The Esquires perform Judgement DayThis is why I love garage music from the 1960s. No record executives here. No songwriter from the Brill Building crafting the perfect song. No producer arrogantly pushing his one-size-fits-all vision on a band. Nope.…See More

"I got also curious because it didn't sound as Kaleidoscope UK or US of the 60s and then I had a look. They are an indie band from Liverpool, and they are indeed called Kaleidoscope, they have a myspace page, Kaleidoscope .. hope this helps."

This sounds more 90s production to me. Anyone have any idea who this is? I love it, just don't know who it is.Mystery Band…See More

Profile Information

Location:
Boulder, Colorado
Bio:
I bought my first record at the Franklin's Five and Dime in Arcata, California when I was about 7 or 8 years old. My older sister was buying an Elton John record and I was along for the ride. I thumbed through the sparse choices and came down to two records: A Beach Boys' double LP and a Bob Dylan record. I had little idea who Bob Dylan was, but the picture of him tilting a cowboy hat back on his head while looking down at the camera reminded me of a picture of my father when he was in the Peace Corps in Honduras. That was enough to put the record on my virgin "record shelf". Thirty-three or so years later, I still own that very same copy of a dog eared Nashville Skyline. That and about 4,000 other records.

Tropic of Cancer/Delta of Venus

I believe I am posting way too much but without all the fistfights and kids jumping out of (1st floor)  windows because of summer break I am a bit bored. Anyway, there was a Henry Miller discussion in this group recently and while watching After Hours for research purposes last night Tropic of Cancer by Henry Miller came up. I took that to be a bit of a sign. The most impressive thing about Henry Miller was his ability to riff on any given subject for five minutes or five hours at a time.…See More
