THE FADEAWAYS - (I Wanna Get Some) Action! - New 7" Single!

Posted on November 18, 2011 at 9:00am 0 Comments

Swamp Fiction (that's the label branch of Pacifiction Records) has been hard at work releasing new & amazing garage punk from the Far East! The latest news is that THE FADEAWAYS, a Japanese band know for crunching up classic North West style garage has been chucking it back Stateside. They performed a short tour of the North East earlier this November, and Swamp Fiction completed their US debut 7" single just in time for them to sell-out of it during their 6 show run!

Big news this Fall for Swamp Fiction, that's the record label branch of Pacifiction Records, and what all the garage punk nuts out there should be keeping an eye on! THEEE BAT have visited smoky London & played the Funtastic Dracula Carnival in Spain. Now they are making their US debut (along with a new release from Dirty Ugly/Squoodge Records). You can get their…

HOUSE of MYSTERY Vol. 4, "House of the Dolls" A Japanese girls in the garage party!

Posted on September 5, 2011 at 8:30am 0 Comments

Welcome back to the HOUSE of MYSTERY, boys & girls! This past August 13th, was an fiercely female night of estrogen-fueled antics and adventure! Five gravely glamorous groups of Japanese femme-fatales appeared on stage at Club Heavy Sick along with special attractions including a sneak-peek screening of B-movie maniac Chris' footage for his tentatively title slasher flick "I Ain't Your Geisha!" and special burlesque dance performance by the lovely… Continue

HEAL THE COAST - A Homespun Tsunami Benefit

Posted on August 15, 2011 at 10:00pm 0 Comments

I put this benefit comp together way back last May but haven't done much to promote it. Five months on, there are still people in need and much recovery still going on, not to mention the uncertain future for those who lived and made their living around the Fukushima nuclear plant. That being said, please take the time to read this blog and check out the page where you can download the comp.

Over the past year Pacifiction Records has evolved in some strange ways...…

i hope the rest of their tour went well!  Great guys, wish they had more records to sell when they were here! They sold out before I could get to them!  Say "hi" to them when you see them next time.

Thanks for the add Marty!  The Fadeaways and Jackie and the Cedrics was one of the best shows i've seen in a long time... too bad only about ten people were there!

So you wanna come to Japan...

I've been meaning to write up a kinda guidelines for those interested in coming to Japan. Before reading what I have to say, I recommend this article because it makes a lot of sense and in someway backs up my experiences as an event organizer and booking shows:http://japanmusicmarketing.com/article3.htmGigging in Japan is much different from anywhere else in the world and a lot more difficult to arrange for any band on…See More

ATOMIC SUPLEX - JAPAN 2012

So it's that time of year again when the cherry blossoms bloom and the geezers lay out their blue tarps and drink sake under the pink flowers dreaming of samurai & geisha of old and then ATOMIC SUPLEX lands tearing a hole in the fabric of the collective conscious of thousands of years of Japanese culture! Three rip-roaring RnR shows celebrating the release of the new Crypt Records LP "Bathroom Party!" A bunch of Japanese kids are going to be cramming into the local park's WC to listen to…See More

Tropic of Cancer/Delta of Venus

I believe I am posting way too much but without all the fistfights and kids jumping out of (1st floor)  windows because of summer break I am a bit bored. Anyway, there was a Henry Miller discussion in this group recently and while watching After Hours for research purposes last night Tropic of Cancer by Henry Miller came up. I took that to be a bit of a sign. The most impressive thing about Henry Miller was his ability to riff on any given subject for five minutes or five hours at a time.…See More
