I'm a musician of forty-some-odd years (yes, some were VERY odd!), a writer (I finished my first sci fi novel in 2004)
I mainly play original acoustic in "open G" and "open G minor" tunings. I play on a Martin D-15 (the East Indian Rosewood/Sitka Spruce model - NOT the Mahogany one) Her name is "Sweet Misery" (a long story ...) In the '90's, I played bass in an original, instrumental, high energy space rock band (sort of a cross between King Crimson and Pink Floyd - only without NEARLY
Old garage music from the '60's and '70's (The Standells, Music Machine, Electric Prunes, etc.), Instrumental Surf (modern AND traditional), old style "heavy metal" (Iron Butterfly, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, etc.), and surprisingly, I really like Western Swing such as Bob Wills & His Texas Playboys, as well as music from "The Rat Pack: Sinatra, Dean Martin, etc.
Favorite Movies:
Old, black and white monster and sci fi movies from the '30's -'50's - the "hokier" the better!! Bring back the man in the rubber suit, like in "It! The Terror From Beyond Space"!!! :>}
Favorite GaragePunk.com Podcast(s):
I'm new here and haven't had a chance to listen, but I've always been a fan of Garage music (not to mention that I've played quite a bit of it over the course of my music career)
