Thanks mucho grande for sending along that record. I haven't played it yet because I have houseguests camped out in my room w/ the turntable.
At this point, all I can do is enjoy the rad design and super-mesmo coloured vinyl.
I'm am soooo fucking excited that Flying Saucer Rock 'n' Roll has become its own genre! It's about time!!!
Who else is on the Committee for Blast Off Sounds? What do I have to do to join?
Thanks again... I'll make sure you don't wind up as food when the invasion happens.
I know exactly what you mean. No matter how many records you have, it's never enough. There's always something cool that you haven't heard before that blows your mind.....then you find out that original copies go for the kind of megabucks that only bosshoss66 can afford to pay. Or some other rich record collector scumbag. But I'm in there pitching.
BTW, I have a blog dealing with old 45s that a friend of mine in Illinois and I do. It's at www.itsgreatshakes.blogspot.com. We write about all kinds of 45s from our collections. There's soul, funk, R&B (the real old kind, not that crap that passes itself as R&B today), garage, rockabilly, rock 'n' roll instrumentals and what have you. Check it out whenever you have time and let me know what you think. Over and out.
How ya doin'? I haven't been doing the zine since 2001, but I'm still very much collecting 45s. I now have around 4500 including soul, garage, rock 'n' roll instrumentals, rhythm & blues, rockabilly and more. So in a way, I'm still out there. Thanks for dropping me a note.
