"Ha, at least it wasn't the Mail. That could give a seriousely scary view of a country on the brink of apocalypse. If you read the Telegraph you just start imagining that people in Britain are a bit like boring Republicans. "

BritRock @ the White House

Seems some people in the UK are embarrassed that Mumford & Sons were chosen as the entertainment for the White House's state dinner with David Cameron. A columnist at The Telegraph wrote, "Where once we sent the Americans the Beatles, the Stones, the Who and David Bowie, now we can only extend to Mumford & Sons... Imagine the bemusement of senior members of the White House team forced to watch Mumford & Sons play. Only a few weeks ago they were hosting a sizzling White House blues…See More

"What rotten timing to check out on a weekend with the entertainment press still obsessing on Whitney.    Does that mean there are two left?  Naturally, Iggy Pop is probably still as healthy as a horse.  Go figure.    "

Yes, Rick, friend requests are a pretty normal thing on social networking sites. It's how you build your network. And yes, being active on the site shows me you're here for more reasons than just grab some free music and split.

Welcome to the Hideout, Rick. First off, please read the Network Guidelines page for a few simple rules to follow. Then, to help you find your way around and get started, I recommend taking a few minutes to read this introductory guide. It should do a good job in giving you a better idea of what all is available to you here. Hopefully you'll like what you find and keep coming back for more, because that's what it's all about. Cheers!

Tropic of Cancer/Delta of Venus

I believe I am posting way too much but without all the fistfights and kids jumping out of (1st floor)  windows because of summer break I am a bit bored. Anyway, there was a Henry Miller discussion in this group recently and while watching After Hours for research purposes last night Tropic of Cancer by Henry Miller came up. I took that to be a bit of a sign. The most impressive thing about Henry Miller was his ability to riff on any given subject for five minutes or five hours at a time.…See More
