Heeey yooou!!!!! Thanx for the R&R! It inspired me to come here and play around with my playlist. I added 'It's Trash' spanx and hugs to you! xox
Now I will add more.. I'll be here for a while..
I have been fully enjoying the fuzz around…even though I doesn’t really fit the bill for the group I’m playing with currently. Kind of like you were saying about the Meathead, it’s a little too modern sounding. Although you can slum it up a bit with a treble booster. I can’t believe it was conceived in ’66. Way ahead of its time!
I just had Brad of Creepyfingers build me a FZ-1/FZ-1A clone with some output cap mods similar to the D*A*M 1966’s (and I guess 1965’s) “super –bee” settings. It’s mix between the FZ-1 and FZ-1A circuit with the pair of AA batteries powering it. Plenty of raspy treble and not too much sustain, just the way I like it. I am still waiting on it, but the sound samples are pretty nice. With the mods it should be kind of unique sounding next to all of my other fuzzes.
What type of equipment have you guys been using to record? Is it on a computer or something else. I probably need to learn how to use a computer to record. I have done a little on my Macs Garage Band program and it’s been ok. I’m way too used to 4-tracking, but the convenince of the computer is pretty enticing. At least for demos and getting ideas down. I have an old ReVox 2-track that I used to use for live recording, but you need to have enough space to set up the amps and drums in separate, but adjacent, rooms to get it sounding really good. It’s almost like using the rooms and doors as your mixing board controls. Pretty fun stuff! I really need to get up and running again.
errrrrrrrrrrrm..... hahaha I am SO dull sometimes Dave! I've got a MASSIVE flu and I've only just realised, you're "kinksville Dave" huh!? Guess those flu meds really did a job on me... it's reassuring to know I can bring my ability to make an arse of myself into the virtual world unimpeded!
How ya been!? I haven't spoke to you in an age, have you enjoyed the northern summer?? Summerrrr, suuuummmmmmmmeeeeeeer, I miss summer!!
Tis me...N.Hagen (a.k.a Mr. Maestro)! I remembered your fantastic juke box the other day and figured I should finally get set up on here. Yeah it's funny, I compiled my list of faves off of my record shelf which is in rough chronological order. A lot of similarities! Don't have too much converted to Mp3 format yet... on my list of things to do. Take it easy!
P.S. Did you see my post regarding EP-2 repairs on Dave's forum? If you have any experience or insight, please share!
