If you think that the best you can get from a date with five girls from Tuscany is a gorgeous dinner, you’re completely wrong: The Cleopatras are gonna offer you some genuine…rock’n’roll!!! Forget the idea that rock is a man’s pleasure and enjoy the show, if garage-punk attitude and sound, combined with a little bit of Tuscan irony is what you are looking for, they won’t let you down, and you will need more!
Camilla, Rossana, Alice, Darleen b. and Marla are riding the wave of rock’n’roll since 1998, and people often refers to them as “the queens of Italian female garage-punk”. They played all around Italy, touring in their 1985 volkswagen van, even opening for bands like Pretty Things, Morlocks, Lords of Altamont and Real McKenzies, and took part to many festivals like Festival Beat (Piacenza), BusOne (Piacenza), Festival Surf (Teramo), etc...
In 2009 they toured UK playing also at Peter Parker's Rock'n'roll club, that once saw the Rolling Stones first recording sessions. The Cleopatras recorded two 45"; "The Cleopatras" (2000) and "Let's run with..." (2001). After a 'meditation' break, The Cleopatras are back with a new line-up that recorded the album "Things get better" in 2010 for the label Area Pirata, that deserved very good reviews on italian on non-italian music magazines and webzines.
They also recently appeared in the book "Le ragazze del rock", written by Jessica Dainese and dedicated to the female rock scene in Italy.
The cleopatras are now working on a new record, and managing a Tour around Switzerland and Germany for September 2012.
Still in 2010 two songs by the Cleopatras were included in the soundtrack of “Irriverente canto”, trailer of a movie taken from Tondelli’s novel “Mimi e istrioni”, which is now under production by the artistic collective The Splash.
The sound of the Cleopatras is mostly influenced by garage, surf and 77 punk: Sonics, Ramones, Cramps, The Trashwomen, Oblivians, New York Dolls, ecc, not to talk about all the 50s and 60s female garage and beat bands.
So, you’re getting the point, are you? These girls really have much to say about being on stage, and they are gonna give you an energic and funny show, in one word….rock’n’roll! ***see it to believe!***

"I'm surprised those songs even charted THAT high. I lived in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. It was a big music market , with three competing Rock stations on FM. If a record was a hit , but could still be considered "Rock" , it got…"
