Formed at a party over 10 too many drinks, the D-Rays draw from a variety of instrumental garage/booze/surf influences to bring their own style of stripped down and dirty surf rock & roll to the late-night bar crowd.
Powered by bass player Missy Pence and drummer Maceo Gabbard, the D-Rays live show reflects the short attention span of guitarist Erick Coleman. Their high energy originals inspired by being landlocked in the Midwest combined with spirited cover versions of songs recorded by bands like the Challengers, the Shadows and the Mummies deliver a fast moving set that is usually over before most of the hipsters are done smoking between bands outside. Driven by a blasting rhythm section and reverb-soaked guitar, the D-Rays are fast becoming a local favorite among both bar flies and bar tenders alike.
