Bio:
The Swipes, hailing from Frankfurt/Main, are known for their individual yet catchy sound. The four-piece has developed an - as the press says - electrifying sort of sixties-influenced rock, rounded off with a pinch of indie-punk and ska. They consider this blend as a German answer to the garage rock revival of the 2000's, a style belonging to the sphere of bands like The Hives, The Strokes, The (International) Noise Conspiracy and co.

In April 2010 The Swipes became co-winners of an online contest run by Bruce Springsteen's guitarist Steven Van Zandt and were presented on ESPN's NASCAR motorsports TV program. Moreover the quartet is frequently getting airplay and being interviewed by public service radio stations and commercial broadcasters with a high coverage - plus by countless city-, college- and web radios.

"Destroy Your World", the 13-track debut longplayer of The Swipes, was published by Kamikaze Records, an internationally operating independent label. The album is available on all relevant download portals like iTunes and Amazon as well as in many record stores.

THE MARSHMALLOW OVERCOAT replied to THE MARSHMALLOW OVERCOAT's discussion what is a good price for a #'d 100-copy 45? in the group Trading Post
"Thanks for your thoughts. I don't want to piss off fans by issuing later a 45 they thought was very limited. I really like the 100-copy idea, though. It can BARELY pay for itself, but would be so cool... "
