Thanks for that link Dave. I think as people start spending more on "organic", "natural" and "local" foods, there will be much more of this manipulation and outright fraud relating to these labels by swindlers and also big corporate farmers and food manufactures to get a piece of this "market".

Dave, I didn't make it to the Tannery,  but did have breakfast at Broder (been there before). Have you tried it? It's on Clinton near where Green Noise used to be. Swedish breakfast and lunch. Smoked trout hash and Swedish pancakes are great. Yea, you know how vain I am, I had to post the one photo here out of a thousand that probably doesn't really look like me. But yea, I'm no spring chicken anymore. Looks like my son is going to pick Reed, so I imagine I will make it up there a few times over the next couple of years. Maybe we will have to grab a bite and a beer sometime when I do make it up.

Thanks for the link to the restaurant review. Me and my son will be in Portland for about 48 hours this weekend to check out Reed College. Don't know if we will get a chance to try it out. But if he ends up going to Reed we will probably be up that way every so often to visit.

My roomate has been gone for 3 weeks visiting her parents in AZ. While she's gone I can do all the things I can't do while she's home. Since she left I (deep breath), tore apart & rebuilt built-in cabinets in the basement, tore apart & refinished a pantry cabinet, varnished her bedroom door & frame, varnished the bathroom door frame & base molding in the hallway, took apart & refinished cabinets in the kitchen & dealt with thousands of recipes that I found there, refinished the knotty pine basement wall & doorway under the stairs. painted a box for my light bulbs, designed some household cabinets, and built a set of robe hooks for the bathroom (whew). In addition to taking care of 4 cats, shovelling snow, truck problems, and dealing with the gypsy tenants at my rental house (they didn't pay their uttility bills & the gas got shut off). I'n glad I don't have to work anymore. Aren't you sorry you asked?
I have over 200 albums to listen to, so I'm going to have lots of good stuff to listen to as I hit my next phase of projects.

It took me a while to track down bibliodiscotheque #35, but I found it. I saved it & am going to use it next Mardi Gras. Thanks.

Not much new here, I have been working hard on house projects & have been carrying on a conversation with Alex from Date Bait, whom i met through a series of messed up e-mails.

I went to see my friend's blues band again. I had to pull out the book "The Devil's Music" just to remind myself that real blues music has nothing to do with Stevie Ray Vaughn.

I've gotten behind the 8ball in terms of new stuff, but I got hooked on the Mad Fabricators DVD series the past few years, the tunes on the soundtracks are wicked (Vol 3 is my absolute fave) and I am waiting for the latest release.

http://www.madfabricators.com/

In heavy rotation for me are The Lords of Altamont, who are in the studio now, and they have been teasing us with snippets of recording sessions, so can't wait for that one!

A hometown fave are The Vicious Cycles and also have new stuff coming out soon!

I came to this site to find more goodies, so send me some suggestions!

Cheers!
