Am a dedicated follower of the Garage Punk Podcasts, Jim's Child of the 60s, and Ready Steady a Go Go (what happened to this show??), love hearing new bands and songs and discovering new favorites of past and present, as well as future. My love for 60s garage also coincides with my passion for exploitation and adult films, which at times feel like cheap, grungy garage tunes set to celluloid (lots of passion, a smidgen of talent, and lots of fun!).
The Dovers, The Vagrants, Mike and the Ravens, The Hollies, Shocking Blue, Q65, Monsters from Mars, Crimson Ghosts, The Ronettes, The Jaynetts, The Shangri-Las, The Chesterfield Kings, countless one-song wonders from the Nuggets, Pebbles, Back from the Grave, Teenage Shutdown, Psychedelic Unknowns, Trash Box compilations.
Favorite Movies:
Wow, too many to name, but current faves include BURY ME AN ANGEL, THE CHEERLEADERS, TOYS ARE NOT FOR CHILDREN, THE ULTIMATE DEGENERATE, THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS, PLATINUM PARADISE, and a more normal one, NASHVILLE
Favorite GaragePunk.com Podcast(s):
A tie between State of Mynd and Hot Slop, both really deliver the goods as far as obscure vintage tunes go. I also love the new shows Apocalypstick!, South Bay P.O.R.K. Podcast, and Nasty Grind, as well as "classics" like Savage Kick, Flying Saucer Rock 'n' Roll, and The Vagabond Garage Rocker.
And non-Garage Punk Podcasts don't get any better than Jim's Child of the 60s, or Get Down with the Stepfather of Soul!!
