1/2008 Playlist

Each Month, I start a file in my iTunes that is a playlist for the tunes that catch my ear that month. I have been doing this since Feb of 2006, and each month I write a Mog post covering what I have been listening to each month… I am starting to post this write up in other spaces beyond my Mog (and if you are reading this somewhere besides Mog, you can find all the old ones at www.mog.com/iren)… cause I want to hit as many I-Balls as I can. As with any endeavor of this type this is an evolving… Continue

Anyone else sick of modern music?

I know I may take a beating for this but, has anyone turned on the radio and been inspired to write? What is this overproduced cock rock that the radio stations and major labels are putting out? I can honestly say that witout a doubt that modern rock blows. I miss vinyl records, yes I know I am only 26 years old and the whole record thing was long dead before I was even here on Earth. But the whole music scene has got me down a little bit. Is there anyone out there who cherishes the rare gems… Continue

Betty James

A guy I know traded me a Betty James 45 for a ticket to a local show. I can't find ANYTHING about Betty James on the internet besides that she is on some old blues compilatons. The record is awesome and I don't really care how much it's worth but I'm just curious about it.

Savage Kick #48

Savage Kick

I'm not sure which is worse, late January or late July. Temperatures so cold that you feel your nose hairs ice over on the way to the bus stop, or so hot you can fry eggs on the roof of your car. As strange as it may seem, I think I actually prefer the cold. The heat just has a way of escalating mankind's sick, violent nature, fueling tempers, madness, and pain, while the cold always seems to keep everyone in check, at least for a little while.
