Gritty, scummy, gangster film from Italy--which looks like a sleazy third world backwater. Everything takes place in a post-nuked-looking decayed concrete block housing where you can almost smell the fermented piss and fear sweat. The pastaland of Frederico Fellini isn't even on the same planet as this place, or maybe it's just been drowned, covered in raw sewage and left to rot in the sun.
This is a grim unromantic and brutal patchwork of several unconnected stories. Every scene is…

This shows gonna dish you up some Sex, Drugs and Rock'n'Roll. Kicking off with the Sex session delivering you five red hot rude n lewd R'n'B from way back when. Followed by overdosing you with some drug fuelled Garage Rock. By then you'll be ready for a blast of classic Rock 'n' Roll stompers to get your heart rate up just a bit more even more.
I reckon after all that hedonism your gonna need to cool down a bit, so I'm gonna slow down…

Superfans of
Trailer Park Boys will want to see this if for nothing else than for Mike Clattenberg as Assistant Director. The show is about manipulations and shenanigans behind the scenes at a Toronto TV station. It may be a comedy and while it never actually made me laugh out loud too much, it's still fascinating and highly entertaining. The main characater connives and talks to the camera a lot and at the end of (most) episodes says "That went well."
I only say the first…

Remember Dennis Weaver from Steven Spielberg's first film
Duel? Well this is kinda like it. A made-for-TV version of
The Hills Have Eyes. I saw this years ago before VCR days and for a couple of decades wasn't sure whether I had actually seen this or just dreamed it. To my knowledge this has never been on tape or DVD.
A square normal family in a camper get terrorized by a bunch of evil hippies. The father (Weaver) is a complete wimp and that's what's so unsettling and…

Bitch all ya want about this, but it's hard enough to read Lovecraft never mind adapting him to the screen. This recent entry manages to keep up the heavy opressive atmosphere without getting bogged down.
Due to come out next month and starring Dean Stockwell from the much-maligned original. It's got its flaws, but it's also a lot better than you think. This movie walks the thin line between being a modern 21st century film with SUV's, cell phones and CGI yet still retaining that…

Hello Garage Rockers!
It's been over a year now since I interviewed Tommy James, but I just now added that podcast to My Music on here. It might be of interest to some of you. Especially those in a band - Tommy's story can be inspirational to people just starting out in the Music business.
You can hear the podcast (#7) on My Page here, or at our MP3 page on GRR ( http://www.garagerockradio.com/mp3s.htm ) which I swear I'm going to redo very soon, its such a mess to look…

Inspired by Tim Warren's fantastic Jungle Exotica compilation's I've put together a mix of jungle themed R&B, rock 'n' roll, 60's garage, surf and easy listening. There are a few well worn classics on here, but there should be plenty of new stuff for even the most seasoned veteran of this rather wonderful sub-genre.
Enjoy

Ok girls and guys, guys and girls from the cave,
this is the first and last album from the Stalkers,an Italian punk-rock band. I was the singer and we recorded this one during the spring of 2003. Yes, we were so so young... I was just 17. The album is called: paying freedom with loneliness. I am sorry that I cannot recall the tracklist but time goes by and sometimes my memory doesen't work very well. I hope you will enjoy this one, it is a quite cheap recording and not all the songs are…
