SO TODAY I WAS DRIVIN AROUND LISTENING TO LITTLE STEVEN'S UNDERGROUND GARAGE.I DO LISTEN FROM TIME TO TIME.IT WAS PRETTY COOL FOR A BIT,SAINTS,RADIO BIRDMAN,COMPULSIVE GAMBLERS,THE CRYSTALS,ETC.....THEN OUT OF NOWHERE THIS SHITTY SOUNDING THING CAME ON.MUCH TO MY DISMAY,THEY WERE PLAYING FUCKING GREEN DAY.AS GOD AWFUL AS GOD AWFUL COULD BE.SO MY FAITH IN LITTLE STEVEN HAS KINDA BEEN SWAYED,ALTHOUGH HIS PROGRAM IS BETTER THAN MOST RADIO PROGRAMS.......BUT DEFINITELY NOT BETTER THAN GARAGE PUNK.COM PODCASTS.KEEP THEE FUCKING FAITH.HAPPY HOLIDAYS.

I think that's pretty typical Little Steven. He's always playing something that sucks. I know someone is going to jump in and say Little Steven is doing his part and at least he's trying to turn people on, blah, blah, blah. That's all fine and good but I think it's more of a diservice to the "new fan". If they are listening to little Steven than aren't they trying to get away from that sort of shit? Might as well just tune in to the usual "alternative" station. P.S. Bruce Springsteen blows.

While I'm happy that Little Steven can actually get great rock'n'roll records by the likes of The Music Machine or The Ponys on to the airwaves of my local staid FM radio station, I find it disheartening when the reverie is shattered by shite like Springsteen or that hideous early-60's white Italo Doo-Wop that he's so fond of. I have this theory that the show is probably required to play a percentage of 'straight' (or familiar) artists/songs to make it marketable. I also suspect that it is sold as an 'oldies' type show to some markets. Anyone know the full scoop?
I actually listen whenever I am at home on a Sunday. I quite enjoy his various spoken word bits. But I could do without the Beatles etc.
