Its a two musicians combo from Sao Paulo, Brasil, and they build their songs from elements of punk, garage, rockabilly, guided by the spirit of Nick Cave, Henry Miller, Richar Hell, Television and other underground heroes. At live concerts the band presents only drums and guitar at full rage. The 7" comes in a deluxe rounded cover at limited edition for this 2008 tour.

COSTA, JOAQUIM - CANTA ROCK'N'ROLL
We are proud to present the first commercial release of this hardly known Portuguese Rocker, Joaquim Costa. This is his lost record, never released commercially before. Only two copies of a 78 RPM were made for promotion in 1959. One of them burned in a fire at the label house. Now we have mastered the only copy left (the possible copy, because the original record is in really bad condition. The recording sounds like early blues releases from the 1930's). Joaquim Costas influences are first HASIL HADKINS recordings, CARL PERKINS or JACK STARR, and of course, THE CRAMPS. He is for sure one of the oldest Rockers alive, with 72 years old. He started to sing in the late 50s, listening to Jukebox records and learning the lyrics from soundtracks of movies, like the ROCK ROCK ROCK, or THE WILD ONE with Marlon Brando. He started to play in 1958 in shows at FEIRA DA ESTRELA by the hand of the famous Portuguese producer at the time, Leitao de Barros. This release is a rarity for these days, a must for collectors of rock'nroll and psychobilly, and appreciators of weird rock'n'roll...The art work was made by Joaquim Costa himself in the 1980s, when he found the copy then lost for almost 30 years in an antique fair in Lisbon. This EP came with inserts, photos, bios and other material from Joaquim Costas own collection of memorabilia of the small Portuguese rock scene of the 50's. A must for any collector of vinyl records. This Deluxe release includes 5 tracks, 2 from 1959 and 3 from 1978, recorded only with voice and guitar. Total rock'n'roll.

DT'S - SWEET WORD
What can we say about them, they are simply the best in their style. With SAINT DAVE CRIDER on the guitar (MONOMEN, ESTRUS RECORDS).

EXPLOSIVES, LOS - HEY MONSTRO/LARGA TE DE AQUI
Los Explosivos: A unique and direct band, full of irreverence, a exciting rock'n'roll stomper, pure energy, they are real raw in their live shows making every show a unic experience! Debut of this portuguese rock'n'roll band. A duo (guitar & drums). They put every room on fire, kicking your ass until it bleeds. Influenced by hard blues from mississipi and bands like The Black Keys, Immortal Lee County Killer or similar garage rock combos. They came to stay and make your nights and days even more noisy. Listen to them Live!!!!

OS HAXIXINS - DEPOIS DE UM LSD/ESPELHO INVISIVEL
Two new songs from one of the best psych/garage combo around. In the paths of Os Mutantes, Os Haxixins definetly put Brasil again in the map of psychedelic music. Depois de Um LSD (After a L.S.D.) and Espelho Invisvel (Invisible Mirror) are the two tracks included in this fantastic 7" . Drugs, Alucinations and teenpunk sounds smelling the 60's make this limited 7" in green vinil a real jewl!! After a debut LP already sold out , this guys from Sao Paulo do it better than anyone....PSYCH OUT!!!

PARALLELES - VOCE SO CORRE/JUAN MIRO
The one and only all-girl Brazilian band playing garage rock influenced by soul and pop music. Parallèles start playing in 2007, initially formed by Carol Caliman on drums and vocals and Tatiana Sanson on keyboards and vocals. They both were coming from previous punk bands, such as Mercedes and Infect. They soon recruited Paula Villas on guitar and Andreia Crispim (FuzzFaces, Transistors) on bass and vocals. Influenced by groups such as Go-Go's, Marvelletes, Delmonas, Pandoras and 60s garage music, Parallèles started blending their favorite musical elements with sharp vocals and a punk approach.

ROUTES - STORMY/WILLIE THE WILD ONE
The Classic singles collection stills goes on, this time nothing less than the wild and garagers THE ROUTES.Taking influence from amongst many others Link Wray, The Yardbirds, The Animals, The Sonics, The Wailers, The Downliners Sect and Hound Dog Taylor, The Routes distinctive sound featuring Chris' sublime guitar playing is a must-have for any Garage fan. This amazing japanese band, have now two nice cuts at Groovie, for those who like to dance at the sounds of 60's wild garage, this is for you...

THUNDERBEATS - I WANNA TAKE YOU DOWN/CONFUSION
Along with The Cavestompers these guys are probably the best band from the cold Russian big city, Moscow. The Kinks and The Troggs mixed with psychedelic emotions, The Birds and The Small Faces in bed with the best "back from the grave" R'n'B, garage punk, and all the 60's best songs together in the same room.

VINYLATORS, LAS - LA SELVE/ACOSADOR
Las Vinylators are a garage girls band from Mexico, presenting here, at Groovie Records, the first release. Two garage monster tracks fuzzed with best south american garage 60's, influenced by the 60's and banged by the 80's with bands like The Pandoras or even by the Brazilian garage freaks Os Haxixins. In this debut the girls covered a track from Os Haxixins first album, here in a spanish version, La Selva.

ACT-UPS - TAKE ME HOME (10")
The Act-Ups are one of the best Garage Bands in Europe, with the Maestro NICK NICOTINE the man behind BARREIRO ROCKS. They really kick ass in rock'n'roll. Here they put a cover of the song MUSHROOM from the germanic psycho kraut rock band CAN...dont loose it!!!

ROB K. & UNCLE BUTCHER - THE JAMMESSENGERS (10")
Limited 10" vinyl issue coming with nice 2 colour poster. Way before Trash Rock there was The Workdogs just as way before Hardcore there was The Chumps. What these bands had in common besides being absurdly ahead of their time was anarcho-vocalist Rob Kennedy. Now the loopy motor mouthed blues poet has reincarnated yet again - this time as the Master of Ceremonies of The Stop and Shake Show - a "strip show soap opera" that features the superb musical stylings of The King of the Brazilian One Man Bands - Marco (Uncle) Butcher. Also the possessor of a prestigious rock n roll pedigree, Mr. Butcher is celebrated internationally for his kick-ass work with Thee Butchers Orchestra as well as The Royal Ass Shakers. It was Marco who found Rob K through the internet and began sending his raw, earthy instrumentals to Rob as mp3 files. Burlesque Sensations from around the globe are signing on for the opportunity to grace the stage with Rob K and Uncle Butcher as part of the wild, primitive STOP AND SHAKE SHOW! Educators and Theologians have lined up both in support and in denunciation of the wanton, lascivious STOP AND SHAKE SHOW! Together Rob K and Uncle Butcher bridge continents, oceans and time zones to create a new kind of Island music that runs 24 HOURS A DAY!

ACT-UPS - PLAY THE OLD PSYCHEDELIC SOUNDS...
...Of Today!" The Act-Ups were born in 2001 - A monster made up of one volt of Iggy, one hambone of Pickett, one shot of Hank, two injections of Jeffrey Lee and a case of bourbon. Their first record "I Bet You Love Us Too", released in 2003, was the perfect record for your late night garage party, filled with soul-punk anthems and rockin' rave-ups. "The Marriage of Heavenand Hell", their second disc, saw the light of the day (and hid in the cloak of night) in 2006, fired up by more whiskey than ever before and the demons that came with it. The record you now hold in your hands rests atop three pillars of pure fury: the two records that preceded it and the live energy this combo unleash upon unsuspecting pilgrims all across this land. Behold the Play The Old Psychedelic Sounds of Today!

CAVESTOMPERS - INTRODUCING...
It's great to hear a brand new record that gives off electric sparks and a palpable sense of the teenage spirit that lies behind all great rock'n'roll sounds. The Cavestompers, six guys of Russian origin, from the city of Moscow. On this, their debut long-player, "Introducing.", The Cavestompers have woven together a truly fine tapestry of sounds - much of it resonating from the valves of vintage Eastern Bloc electronic technology, and instrumentation - breathing new life into familiar noises; building a thumping, swaggering collection of authentic future dance-party favourites in the process. The influence and style of punk rock isnt so far away, and hand in hand with the proclamations of the original Rolling Stones-era have been bound together in The Cavestompers style to form what we can term today as the new breed. So without any further ado, crank up your music machine, cue the disc and let your hips shake, your bootheels stomp and your head swirl, for as the boys in the band are proud to shout out loud: "we all cant stop the stomp"! The record came with a beautifull two sided insert print, photos of the Russian instruments and studios and photos of the band.

CRIMSON SHADOWS - ONE STEP BEYOND SANITY
These guys were the absolute definition of the term "mayhem"! The Crimson Shadows were among the very few and the very first that took on garage punk not only in Sweden but Europe in general, the first half of a suck ass decade like the 80s. They had three at least talented song writers (Peter Maniette, Jens Lindberg and Mans P. Mansson), that more or less on 'em the whole rock n' roll scene of Sweden lean on, with later bands like The Wylde Mammoths, The Highspeed V, The Livingstones and continue to these days with the Maharajas, the Maggots and the Strollers! They were drunks to the bone, savages and terrorists not only in their music but in lifestyle. There are lots of stories about them on how raised hell and gave the creeps in every single band of that scene or every single show! This LP compiles all the tracks officialy released by the Crimson Shadows in the 80's, in vinyl. Original records long gone and beats top dollar in the collectors market. This where the best you can in the european garage scene in the 80's. And now ...they are back. Full story, record covers and a bunch of unseen photos of the band during the savage 80's. All the tracks have been taked from the original master tapes.

DADDS - IDÉES CHOC & PROPOS CHIC
Formed in 2002, The Dadds is a wildly 60s garage band in which voluptuously melt the groove of British R'n'B. The Dadds are able to combine English rocknroll with French pop music, everything kept at a rather retro level. The English rock elements show some parallels to The Buzzcocks, The Kinks, the Beatles and The Who, the French pop and rock side hints Les Problemes or Ronnie bird. This mixture of French and English influences is reflected in the vocals, too. There are eight songs in The Dadds native language and two songs in English. This their first longplay, here released in delux vinyl record.

ELECTRIC MESS - FALLING OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH
Like their debut album, "Falling Off the Face of the Earth" was recorded at The Church in Brooklyn, engineered and mixed by David Horowitz (The Above), and mastered by punk legend Ivan Julian (Richard Hell and the Voidoids). 10 of its 13 songs have already been heard on radio stations across the U.S. and in Japan, France, Scotland, and Germany. Reviews: "...ear-piercing Farfisa, raucous guitars, driving rhythms and sneering vocals, echoing the surge of original punk that rocked a thousand suburban basements... Great original songs, blazing guitar riffs with neo-psych shades." (Hyperbolium) "Thirteen songs that move through the garage punk label perfectly... a band that makes a wall of 60's sound with total conviction." (Kick Out the Jams) "...uncompromising and unpretentious sounds of the great garage bands of the 60s... songs that catch fire right out of the gate and conjure images of The Yardbirds, the 13th Floor Elevators, The Stooges, and at times, even early Stones." (Burning Wood)

EXPLOSIVOS, LOS - GARAGE MEXICANO MUITO FUDIDO
New LP for this 4 crazy mexicans, 10 tracks recorded in Lisbon, during the last 2010 tour. Recorded and produced by Nick Nicotine at King Studios in Barreiro. The evolutes here to some garage and psychedelic sounds. Its a crazy LP recorded only in 3 alucinated days.Artwork is one more time by the fantastic mexican artist, Jorge Alderete.

GRUESOMES - TYRANTS OF TEEN TRASH
Limited to 800 copies hand numbered + FULL SIZE POSTER Unmistakeable, unforgettable and entirely lovable, the Gruesomes have been Canada's premiere trash/garage rock quartet for well over two decades. Now, more than 25 year later Groovie Records takes this Tyrants Of Teen Trash, out of the box again, is only now seeing the light again. Ignoring such an oversight, this 13 tracks timeless bits of hippie-esque, twangy and slightly gritty rock'n'roll is still as upbeat and catchy as ever. From surf-influenced instrumental "Bikers From Hell" to "I Never Loved Her" and "Unchain My Heart," this punky blues rock has simplicity, snottiness and a tongue-in-cheek aspect that are sorely missing in modern rock'n'roll. Offset with bonus Jack The Ripper track, Tyrants Of Teen Trash is essential to both the history and future of bare bones Worldwide rockers. This release brings a bigsize colour poster of the band.

LOVELAND - ORDER TO LOVE
The year was 1995. Two German teenagers, who just happened to be brother and sister, formed a band with the unlikely name Cox Orange. More unlikely was their music - all original material based not on the flavor-of-the-week, nor even similar to the underground music they heard at the time. Theirs was a music heavily influenced by the heady musicianship of the West Coast psychedelic and garage bands of the 60's: Strawberry Alarm Clock, Music Machine, Doors, Love, and the Jefferson Airplane. The band came and went without much of a trace in 1997. Years later, both Lana and her brother Lenny found themselves in a reformed line-up of legendary 60's garage gods, the Music Machine! By 2005, they were both members of legendary garage-revivalists The Fuzztones, whose leader, Rudi Protrudi, just happened to stumble across a 4 track recording by Cox Orange. Thoroughly impressed by the musicianship and songwriting, he recommended that Lana and Lenny re-record and release the material, even volunteering his services as bassist. The year is 2011. The Fuzztones' organist now assumes the role not only of the keyboardist and co-writer, but also as lead vocalist of her own band, bringing their West Coast influences to the forefront in the process. Lead guitarist Lenny Svilar expertly contributes snakey, interloping counter-melodies, as well as moody, eerie and unusual effects. Protrudi and drummer Alex Tenas offer more than just a super-tight rhythm section: their intricate instrumental interplay adds textures and dynamics rarely heard in today's rock music. The result is an extraordinary audio experience.

MAC BLACKOUT - AMERICA STOLE MY BABY
Singer of the amazing Functional Blackouts, hidden instigators of most of the KBD North American revival punk in recent times. Mac Blackout, who had previously worked with FDH, Sacred Bones or Dead Beat records his new LP now exclusively for Burka For Everybody. Its sound evokes a damaged symphony between Suicide and the first Brian Eno albums, torn appart by Darby Crash, who currently lives in the worst "trailer park" and works doing "dirty jobs" for a decadent post-cocaine addict, Giorgio Moroder, who also only sells speed.

MUSTANG 66, LOS - LOS MUSTANG 66
Born in 2002, LOS MUSTAN 66 came from MEXICO city, formed by veterans from the garage scene of South America, Teresa Farfisa ex-LAS ULTRASONICAS, a girl only wild garage combo and Carlos P., that played Bass on the legendary band LOS SICOTICOS. They start to play covers of bands like THE SONICS and THE WAILLERS. They invited Sabu (LOS EXPLOSIVOS) to join them on the Vox Phantom guitar and they put here, in this LP 12 of the best tracks that they recorded to this release, the original tracks sunged in Spanish are really the best of this record, like "Infierno" or "Fuzz On" , but covers like "Writing on the Wall" (Five Canadians) or "Lean On Me" (Lord of Altamond) gonna put your head turning for a while. Along with LOS EXPLOSIVOS, LOS MUSTANG 66 are the wildest and heaviest combo in Mexico. They are obviously influenced by 80's/90's bands like Lords of Altamond, Cynics, Fuzztones or The A-Bones or even the CRAMPS, but they also have a personality that emerge here after 5 years of stage perfomances.

PHANTOM SURFERS & DICK DALE - CONQUER YOUR WORLD
The history of the Phantom Surfers is fairly uneventful. They have been consistently paying tribute to Los Angeles surf music and to the North West's garage-rock. Here with the reissue of their 1996 album, with nothing less than the surf guitar king, Dick Dale. The lp came with 3 unreleased tracks and a new artwork for this Groovie Records release. If you are a fan of the surf guitar and fuzzy rhythms of the US garage rock, this is your christmas LP. To put all the family dancing around the turkey...limited to 500 copies only.
